I posted recently about measuring a week behind at 28 weeks, which I know is probably within normal limits (it was a private 4D scan so more geared towards a nice experience than medical info!)
Went into day assessment yesterday on midwive's advice due to reduced movements. The midwives were fantastic. Spent two and a half hours on the trace instead of usual 20 as the baby's heart rate was initially very high (180-190) just to check it settled back down to around 160, which it did - so probably just a period of activity (ironically!)
They then measured fundal height which was way below 10th centile on a chart, I expect below 1st centile from what I can see. I know this isn't the most scientific thing in the world but nonetheless the doctor who looked over my notes asked me to stay for a same day scan, which changed to 24 hours as they were fully booked with emergencies yesterday.
In isolation I don't think I'd be too too worried about this as I know there's plenty of normal very healthy and small babies, and that the measurements are notoriously inaccurate. But we also had a nuchal translucency reading of 4mm at 12 weeks, leading to chromosome tests, fetal cardiac scans and consultant led care. They haven't found any any chromosome issues or obvious defects on scans, and have said it could be just one of those thing, but that it is often linked to genetic or other structural problems, or infection.
My blood results also show I've had listeriosis at some point (what are the chances?!) but nobody knows whether it was before or during pregnancy
I feel like all these factors combined are more likely to point to "something", but family think I'm just being "anxious first baby", which I'm not finding helpful!
Please could I have a hand hold for my scan today? Any experiences also gratefully received! Thank you
