Anyone had a positive FFN test and not gone into early labour within the fortnight?

Hi, I'm just wondering if anyone has had any experience with a positive fFN test and not gone onto have their baby in the next fortnight?

I 27+2 and was admitted yesterday after having quite painful tightenings, initially I thought BH but they were too strong and close together. Put me on the monitor thankfully baby looking good, carried out this fFN swab which gives you instant result and mine was positive. Obviously it's far too early and I would like baby to hold on for as long as possible.

Good news is my pains have eased off, I've also had two lots of steroids (just in case).

Any experience? Has anyone ended up having a positive test but baby managed to hold on?

I've had a busy month and I'm just hoping wondering whether it's my bodies way of telling me to slow down. But also scared of the baby being born so early.

TIA x

Happens frequently which is why a lot of units don’t use it, and instead use clinical judgement.
Good news the pains have settled down

Me! I had one at 30 weeks, had the two doses of steroids to mature DD’s lungs.

She came at 42 weeks Grin

Apparently they’re really not very reliable, the midwife who did mine said the accuracy is ridiculously low!

That's reassuring thanks both. I've read mixed things. One dr made out they are pretty reliable and the one I've literally just seen has made out they're a bit hit and miss, but to treat it as a warning to slow down and take things easy! X
