Nesting

38+6 today - I got a good night's sleep for the first time in AGES last night and woke up feeling energised. I think my nesting instinct has finally kicked in!

This morning I've done two loads of washing, general tidying around, sorted through 4 folders full of documents that have accumulated over several years, hoovered and mopped throughout the ground floor.

I think I might need a little rest now, my back, hips & top my thighs are hurting!

Tell me about your nesting madness!

Good work Op!!

Far too early for me to be nesting (only 19 weeks) but I’m wfh today and got up super early to tidy up, clear all the kitchen clutter away, get the washing done and hung up etc before work! Wahooo! Feels so good to be on top of things.

Might even do a bit of ironing at lunchtime!

I tidied out our bathroom cupboard and cleared away every teeny item of clutter on the weekend, I am still feeling smug every time I go into the bathroom. Sad sad woman I am!!

Enjoy your weeks of peace and quiet - hope baby doesn’t keep you waiting too long!

I'm a delegatory nester!

I absolutely love being at home as much as possible right now (unlike me) and have taken to wanting to cuddle anything that is vaguely small, warm and soft. Meanwhile, I have a deep need for everything to be neat and tidy and 'fixed' but I'm still lacking energy or motivation so my DH does it all under my direction! (disclaimer: am only 16 weeks and still suffering MS and exhaustion). DH is excellent.

PS writing the words small, warm and soft has made me cry a little. Twice!

It does feel great to be on top of things!

I love the sound of delegatory nesting, definitely one to test on DP later!

That's probably the affect your small, warm and soft little baby is having on your hormones just Wink not long to go before you can have a cuddle!

Crying again now whilst cuddling a stuffed dog toy me and DH call 'Doggie' and which I secretely wish I could carry around the whole time!

My nesting was ridiculous. I was washing the blanket I or over me in the sofa twice weekly, I had the hoover serviced and cleaned, someone came and cleaned all the carpets and the sofas. It’s so funny to look back on. Probably the only reason my husband would give for baby #2 is that it might happen again 🤣

39+1. Too tired to nest. Really can't be arsed to do anything.

We planned to put house up for sale when our baby arrived so my nesting was 10 times worse! 2 days before I went in to labour I cleaned my entire living room floor on my hands and knees (midwife told me to try and move baby's position). I ached so much after! I washed everything in sight including sofa cushions, curtains etc!!

DH is the champion nester in our house. He's painted three rooms already and deep cleaned the whole of the downstairs. I still have four weeks to go!
