Hi
Due in April but bought the changing bag yesterday as was in discount. It comes with a changing mat

What do you normally put in it?
Nappies - how many ? 2-3 day for a full day out
Changing clothes 2-3 for a day trip out
Wipes
Hand sanitizer
Nappy rash cream
Bottles If bottle feeding

Anything else you would not live without ? Smile

4-5 nappies for a full day out for tiny baby.
nappy bags for wet/soiled clothes (and many other uses!).
small toy- a rattle or squeaker
keys money phone - CBA with an additional handbag.

Logoplanter · 04/01/2018 06:35

Mine are well past the stage of a changing bag but I used to have:
Nappies - 4/5
2 changes of clothes
Nappy bags - essential for the dirty clothes!
Nappy cream
Baby wipes
Snacks when they got older
Hand sanitizer
Hand cream for me (my hands were terrible because I was washing them all the time)
Some pieces of kitchen roll - they went over DS's willy or under DD's back to catch the wee which inevitably happened when the nappy came off
Small toy

Clean top for you!

pluginbaby00 · 04/01/2018 06:47

Agree with BikeRunSki, we had a spare thin t-shirt each for DH and I when babies were are the spit up on shoulder constantly phase.

Not much.

A couple of nappies, wipes a dingle change of clothes. Water bottle for me.

I know I was t prepared for all
Emergencies but I tended to use a baby carrier and couldn’t be arsed lugging loads of stuff around. I was also in a town do plenty of shops around.

eurochick · 04/01/2018 06:52

Nappy bags are small plastic bags to put used nappies in.

winterwonderlandy · 04/01/2018 06:53

Nappy bags are little plastic bags (often scented) you can put used nappies in befor popping them in the bin (as the dirty ones are pretty whiffy!). Also useful for soiled or wet clothes etc.

FrostyThirties0 · 04/01/2018 06:54

Nappy bags/sacks are little scented plastic bags you put the dirty nappy and wipes in and tie up before disposing or carrying until you find a bin.

I’d also add calpol sachets , teething gel and a muslin or two.

JessYouMe · 04/01/2018 06:57

Muslins everywhere, in the changing bag, the car, down your top...can never have too many.

JessYouMe · 04/01/2018 06:57

Also lansinoh cream if breastfeeding.

JessYouMe · 04/01/2018 06:59

I actually keep things in large sandwich bags and have a few spare in there too.
Nappies, wipes and nappy bags in one, outfit changes in another, snacks and water in another, liquids in one and then spare ones for dirty outfits etc.

RibenaMonsoon · 04/01/2018 07:05

I'd also put a little bottle of factor 50 sun cream in there. That time of year I found it was handy to always have with me.

dramallamakarma · 04/01/2018 07:15

Muslins, tissues.

I've got a storksak Elizabeth in tan as I wanted something handbag like. It's lasted 5 years & still looks like new.

dramallamakarma · 04/01/2018 07:17

Oh sorry thought you asked what change bag, realised you meant nappy bags!

I like lidls nappy bags.

Mol1628 · 04/01/2018 07:23

Muslins. Lots of them.
Paracetamol for you, might get sore walking around not long after giving birth
Small bottle of water for you and a snack especially if breastfeeding
Nursing pads
Spare too for yourself
I’d say about 5/6 nappies for a full day out and 2 or three full changes for the baby.

Toadsrevisited · 04/01/2018 07:31

Squashy sling like a ring sling

Bobbiepin · 04/01/2018 07:41

I always have WAY more nappies than that. Most of the time I won't use them but its useful having a big supply so you don't have to constantly be filling up the bag every time you go out. For the same reason I take a whole pack of wipes & nappy bags. I have two bags that stay packed so I can just grab and go.

Also I have a make up bag that has my stuff (purse, headphones, keys, lip balm etc) so it's all together in my bag so I know where stuff is. It makes it much easier to transfer quickly to a handbag if I'm going out without the change bag too.

FurryGiraffe · 04/01/2018 07:44

A bottle of water and a snack for you if you are breastfeeding- you will drink water like it’s going out of fashion.

Marmite27 · 04/01/2018 07:45

I had way too much stuff in mine 1st time around and hurt mu back.

I’m planning on streamlining this time. I now use ziplock bags as they’re waterproof like a PP does with sandwich bags.

I didn’t need muslins, it’s not a given, it does depend on the baby.

I was usually somewhere with the car, so would have 4-5 nappies in the bag and a spare bag in the car with just nappies, wipes, cream and nappy bags in which meant if we were out longer than planned I still had enough nappies.

EssentialHummus · 04/01/2018 07:47

Sleepsuits and vests x 2 (but DD isn't too sicky)
Bottle of water and snacks
Small change
Nappy sacks
Disposable changing mat/inco pad - much thinner/less bulky than the ones that come with most changing bags, and can be disposed of if you're dealing with a horrendous poo. Pampers' are pricey but Lidl (during baby events) or just bog-standard incontence mats from Amazon will do the trick.

PrimeraVez · 04/01/2018 07:57

Breastfeeding cover (if you are BF-ing and want to cover) Once I got used to it, I just chucked a muslin over my shoulder but for the first few weeks I used one of these

DaisyLand · 04/01/2018 08:01

WOW! Blimey! thanks all! I had to start a list in the icloud account not to forget none of them!

Good point the muslins... Do you normally get Bamboo ones or any type? I need to investigate what's the difference between them.

@EssentialHummus good point about disposable changing mat, i read specially for when you need to change in shops/bars and dont want the baby to lie down on the one they provide.

@dramallamakarma haha thanks i meant what to put in the bag, sorry! I bought yesterday the bugaboo one, i liked it had so many pockets and also an area that is independent from the rest of the bag for easy access as well as bag pockets for my personal items.

Also a pack of anti bacterial wipes in case the changing facilities are left in a state 😕
