I know there have been lots of posts on this but can't find a recent one.

Had the call from the midwife today to confirm that I have it- my results after the glucose during the GUY were quite high.

Have an appointment late next week but want to start on diet before then but have read so much confusing and conflicting advice online.

Anyone have any good tips or recipe plans?

Right well mine was on insulin so bear in mind. I had gluten free (cos I am) seeded bread as toast 2 slices with clover. It's a very low sugar one so may be worth a try if normal ones are high sugar. And some cheese. Breakfast was my most controlled one, they think because my insulin production lessened through the day. Oats for me rocketted my sugar level

Breakfast: granary toast with mashed avocado or bowl of full fat green yoghurt with drop of agave syrup and nuts/sliced banana. At weekends I'd have scrambled egg, bacon and sausage but no beans or tomatoes as they caused a spoke.

Spoke?! Spike!

Vogel linseed bread - it's about the lowest carb per slice that there is.

I couldn't tolerate carbs in the morning at all so ended up with a lot of babybels and peanuts and eggs for breakfast! If you eat meat it's easier as you can have sausages or something.

I have GD and had it with my DS too. This time diet is doing nothing for me - whereas with DS I had a standard eggs on toast breakfast this time that has no effect so I am on insulin.

I got really upset at my last appointment and the doctor and nurse really took some time to persuade me that it's not something to fight, just to treat.

I am disappointed I will be unlikely to have my hoped for vbac but a healthy baby is the only important outcome.

Well, I think you should search the internet for it. They really have good diet plans all over there. But, still, if you can wait until appointment that would be better. Because they will prescribe you a perfect and relative deal for you. Milk, Yogurt, Rice, Grains, Cereals, Pasta, Fruits are also compatible for it. But, still, I'd endorse you to wait for it.
