24 weeks and don't feel "right". Pain in back and bum and nauseous. Any advice?

Will try and keep short.
I'm 24+1 with dc2. Had a very straightforward and good pregnancy up till now.
Night before last I start getting very crampy period pains, the type where you know your period is imminent. I didn't stress and put it down to growing pains. I guess the pains may have continued into the night as I kept dreaming I was in labour.
I felt fine yesterday all day, then at bedtime i started to feel sick. Went to bed and woke at 2am where I then was heaving over the toilet for over 2 hours. No sick, no cramps, just an overwhelming sense of nausea.
Today I didn't get out of bed till 2pm. I have no energy and I am boiling although I have no temperature. I have a heat rash all over my chest.
I have a dull ache in my bum and legs and a bit in my back but nothing terrible.
On top of this the baby is going absolutely crazy, and has since last night. There has been no let up. You can see limbs sticking out all over, not just the odd kick in one spot.
Dh is very laid back all the time and has paid absolutely no interest. In fact he has just taken dc1 out to "give me a break" when I suggested I wasn't sure whether to call hospital.
We live 45 mins away from the hospital and I'm sure this is what's putting him off, as he'll feel like I have a bug and wasting everyone's time.
Can I get opinions?
I genuinely really don't want to leave the house if I don't have to but I don't know if these things are anything to worry about.

Thanks

You are not a time waster. Good luck and I hope it’s nothing X

Really hoping it turns out all fine.

I have had at least two time wasting visits to maternity unit with an exasperated DH in tow. Better safe than sorry. Thanks

Hope all is ok OP?

astoundedgoat · 01/01/2018 23:16

Definitely not a time waster. I hope you are okay. It does sound like a UTI-related infection.

Lukeandlorelai4Ever · 01/01/2018 23:16

Hope all ok Flowers

ItsNachoCheese · 01/01/2018 23:18

Your not a time waster! Your 24wks pregnabt with his child, god forbid something were to happen would he still be mumping and moaning and less than happy?

PinkAvocado · 01/01/2018 23:21

I never found the hospital staff anything but reassuring in the sense of me not being a time waster. They always said they’d rather they saw me than not. Hopefully this will rub off on your DP.

Scruffette · 01/01/2018 23:21

You are not being a time waster even if they tell you all is well! And I hope they will. Good luck

Bananamanfan · 01/01/2018 23:24

Hope you are ok. Flowers

WhyTheHeckMe · 01/01/2018 23:43

Thanks so much. All seems well, they've tested urine and swabbed me and said I can go home and they'll be in touch if any concerns from my swab. Cervix was closed and baby seemed happy enough :-)

Glad you went to get checked out. It's better to be safe than worst case. Your husband needs to change his attitude though

Gerbil17 · 02/01/2018 00:00

So glad all is well!

YY to your dh needing a change of attitude. You know your body, not him. He can hum and har as much as he wants, just make sure you listen to yourself and your body like you did today. So much better to be safe than sorry and now you can relax knowing all is well Smile

ThatWasNotLove · 02/01/2018 00:01

You did the right thing. And remember you phoned them and they told you to come in. Your DP should have that pointed out - he needs a change of attitude.

Bumplovin · 02/01/2018 00:06

You did the right thing a mother's instinct is different to a fathers sometimes I don't know how I just feel it is. My hubby used to think I rushed to the mau when pregnant however felt it was my job to get my daughter checked out if I felt different. Same as now she's here I rang 111 and she was sent to a and e today. Hubby thought the trip was unnecessary but I can rest tonight knowing I protected her

TeaAndToast85 · 02/01/2018 00:10

Hope everything is ok with the swabs. Get as much rest/fluids as possible x

Stinkbomb · 02/01/2018 00:58

Well done for going - they never think that you're wasting time, they'd rather have the chance to help, relieve stress and make sure the babies are ok.
Please make sure you go back again if there are any changes.

TammySwansonTwo · 02/01/2018 09:21

You absolutely did the right thing.

I didn't want to explicitly state this yesterday, but many women who tragically go through a still birth report significantly increased movement before it happens, so I would always go and get that checked out even if everything else seems normal. It's never a waste of time. I'm so glad everything is okay - don't hesitate to go back if you're worried. Rashes and feeling very unwell can be caused by a serious liver condition in pregnancy so always worth getting that checked out too, especially if you're very itchy.

JenXhen · 02/09/2021 14:48

Hey

Just reading this and wanted to know what the outcome was and hope you’re ok and the baby
