Hi I'm 29 weeks pregnant and I'm just curious if Indian take aways are ok to eat?? I've read online and a few sites say pregnant woman should avoid eating some spices such as ginger?? Which when I've googled most Indian curries contain ginger spices??

Where did you hear about ginger? As pp said, it’s not something that is talked about usually in anyway except to relieve nausea.

And no not all first time parents are over anxious OP.

Op do you suffer with anxiety?

LaContessaDiPlump · 01/01/2018 18:23

It's just a bit of an... unusual question, op. One that a few seconds of additional thought might have answered, perhaps!

Wow. Why post here instead of using GOOGLE to research this? If you can’t be bothered to find out that India has the highest population growth in the world (despite mums eating all kinds of spice) then you deserve the sarcasm.

I was a first time parent once too, I ate takeaway curry with gay abandon!

I’ve had loads so far and all is well. Always from a trusted takeaway though.

I have so many anxieties about my pregnancy but to be honest the best way to get over that is people laughing at me because it puts things in perspective!

Everyone is different though, and hopefully you are currently tucking into a bhuna (or whatever you fancy).

Btw I’ve literaly googled everything up til I was about 12 weeks and realised I was being over cautious to the point of it getting in the way of my life/diet! So you are not alone.

My midwife positively encouraged me to have a curry the night before dd was finally born! It's a bit gross though really, because it stimulates the bowels....

Curries are fine. Enjoy! Smile
