I'm 47 and have been sterilised. There's no way I can be pregnant is there?

It's just that I'm feeling ExACTLY the same as when I was pregnant with both DC.

BTW, I had DC1 at 40 and DC2 at 41. My great aunt had 4 children between the ages of 40 and 47......

Sterilisation has a ~1:200 failure rate. POAS.

1:200 failure rate??? God, higher than I thought. Fuck. But hopefully the fact I'm 47 is on my side....,.

Menopause?

Cherubneddy1 · 01/01/2018 00:28

Menopause is much more likely I would think. It's just this heartburn and nausea that's making me wonder, and that bone-deep tiredness I've only experienced when pregnant previously.

mussie · 02/01/2018 08:29

Any news OP?

This is the pregnancy, not the conception or contraception topic.

So yes, if pregnant you cannot get pregnant again.

If you want to get pregnant in your 40s, there is all sorts of help in the topic

www.mumsnet.com/Talk/conception

If you do not want to start a pregnancy, then advice on contraception is in this topic

www.mumsnet.com/Talk/family_planning

If you are still menstruating, and do not want to become pregnant, then you need contraception. Once periods have ceased, the rule of thumb (as advised by NHS) is that you can safely abandon other contraception once period-free for two years (under 50) or one year (over 50). I've never know which way you count it if it straddles your 50th birthday....

Scaevola have you even read the OP? No need at all for your PA post.

Scaevola are you drunk

This was one of my gps initial arguements when I asked to be sterilised, it has a higher failure rate than the coil. (As it is a cant have one so I’m being sterilised anyway)
