Early pregnancy, help with the flu?!

Hi and thanks in advance.

I'm coming up to 9 weeks pregnant. I saw the baby at 6 weeks with a heartbeat due to my dates being out by 4 weeks so I was happy to see that however.. I've pretty much been ill since and I'm worried it will have an impact on the baby.

Since middle of last week I came down with what I thought was a cold.
I'm drinking lots of fluid, have been bed rest for a week, have taken paracetamols now and again but I'm getting worse!

I've also had a coldsore, a stye, my glands are swollen on my groin and under armpit, my eczema is awful also, just in the last week.

But again I can deal with all that it's just now it's turnt into the flu, my body aches, I can't sleep, I've got chest and abdominal pain from all the coughing, every time I clean my teeth I'm sick because the phlegm comes up and I've had diarrhea and vomiting too.

I thought I was doing so well self medicating but I'm obvs not. It doesn't help my husband, most of his family and my family have colds too so they can't help me out.

I've been off work and have tried to take it easy but it's becoming painful so I called 111 to see if I could speak to a doctor.

The incredibly rude woman said a lot is going around called the Aussie flu and will get a doctor to call me back.. within 24 hours!

Anyways does anyone have any other advice on what to do? I'm drinking honey and lemon also but has anyone else every been in this situation and it all been okay?

I don't care about me as such just worried it's going to harm the baby especially googling the Aussie flu as it's killed over 300 people!!

I've never had a great immune system to start with so finding all of this stressful I can't seem to catch a break. I would do anything for my little bubs but just want some reassurance really.

Flu fatalities are almost always the very elderly and those with compromised immune systems.

Did you have the flu vaccine this year? If you can't stay hydrated or get worse go to A&E and tell them straight away that you're pregnant.

I called the hospital for advice because I also have flu. The midwife said it won't hurt the baby but I'll feel rubbish because my immune system is suppressed and I can't take the usual flu medication. She said unless I experience bleeding or lack of foetal movement etc, I don't need to go to hospital and should just rest and drink fluids.
