What would you ladies who have been pregnant before recommend me do?

Few options I've been thinking about is a nice hotel stay with a pregnancy massage or maybe a theatre show? Obviously I know things can change but what nice things do you think I could enjoy being that close to my due date?

Recommendations please! Grin

When my friend had her first she was dancing til 1am on her due date. But she was in her twenties with a very simple pregnancy.

I think a massage sounds good. If you're going to a show I'd go for good seats so you're comfortable. The cinema might be even comfier and less awkward to go to the loo when you need to.

I probably wouldn't go too far from home in case you go into Labour.

A posh afternoon tea might be nice.

A spa with a nice pool might be good too.

I wouldn't plan anything, especially too far from home. There's no guarantees you'll be able to do anything and baby may have even arrived by then. If not, the lack of plans will allow you to enjoy one last spontaneous happening before baby arrives.

Yes spontaneous or refundable is probably wise.

Are we talking a few weeks time or a few months away? How has the pregnancy gone so far?

I would say do something in the day. You’ll be tired at 38 weeks and might want the option to go to bed early. Remember that you’ll need to stay reasonably close to home / where you are planning to give birth.

I don’t think I’d book anything that can’t be rearranged as you could be in labour.

Personally I wouldn’t book anything at all - I’d book the person I wanted to spend it with, as in getting DH to take it off work, but as for plans I’d wait and see how the pregnancy progressed. Sorry if that’s not helpful

Thank you for your replies, it makes sense to not book anything that we could loose money on if I'm in labour or just not feeling up to it... I'll just make sure he's definitely off work and put some money aside for whatever we fancy doing.

Much appreciated thanks SmileSmile

I was 40+1 on my birthday and absolutely enormous, she was my second and DD1 was only 16 months at the time. I managed a short walk in the afternoon and a takeaway curry with my family in the evening. DD2 was born at 9.20am the following day. Don't plan too much!

LittleWingSoul · 27/12/2017 22:57

I have been 39+5 and 41+3 for two of my pregnancies.

We went for a curry for the first one and the second one my DH organised a surprise party for me at our house (buffet dinner and a few drinks - not a big knees up!) It was really lovely as I'd been feeling so miserable being that overdue.

I'm 38 weeks now and uncomfortable and tired, and struggle to eat a proper meal as I feel sick and reflux-y so a meal out might be a bit wasted on me!

PandaCat · 28/12/2017 16:47

DD1 was born 2 days after my birthday, she was due exactly a week after. I just went for a meal.

My waters went at 38 weeks just as I was heading out to a posh hotel for lunch. Everyone said first babies came late. They lied!
