From Saturday I have noticed a change in my baby’s movements. I’m 33 weeks 5 days. I don’t feel her when I get up during the night to use the toilet. I feel like she moves more in clusters rather than kicks every now and then. She’s still moving and I’m not to overly worried I’m seeing the midwife on Friday and will mention it to her, I’m just wondering if anyone else felt a change later on in their pregnancy?

Call your maternity unit. All the advice is very clear to report changes movement as it's usually fine but could be a problem. Call them now.

you need to ring the maternity ward, it can't wait until friday.

My midwife told me that the movements themselves might feel different as baby gets bigger, more sweeping and stretching than punchy and sharp, but that the pattern itself shouldn't really change. I agree with Clare, make the call now, and get you and baby checked over. It really is better safe than sorry, and the midwives will not mind at all checking you both over.

I've been in to be checked for exactly the same thing and the midwives on my MLU could not have been more lovely with me, and even though there was clearly nothing wrong (baby was doing the macarena inside me by the time they hooked me up to the monitors) they told me it was the right thing to do, and should i ever be worried again to do exactly the same.

I had exactly the same at about 32/33 weeks, I called the hospital and they told me to go straight in, put me on a monitor for half an hour. As it happens all was well, she had been breech and right at the front up until then but they had a feel around & she had flipped head down low and was positioned to the back. After that I readjusted how I could feel her & what movements were normal - I’m 36+3 now and she’s much bigger so I feel her all the time again!

But they absolutely did not make me feel like I was wasting anyone’s time & wholeheartedly encouraged me to go back at any time if I needed reassurance.

Absolutely go to your midwife of birthing centre, don't delay - any change in the pattern of movements should be checked out - they really won't mind x

*or
Have you called them? It's always better to be safe than sorry, believe me xx

Ring the maternity unit. Now.
There is no other advice that you should follow.

They'll be lovely with you, and will tell you you're right to call. Please don't wait til Friday - better safe than sorry.

Did you get checked out OP?x

Nikki2ol6 · 27/12/2017 21:55

My baby movements felt faint at that stage like he was weak and couldn’t be bothered. Nobody listened to me and I was monitored on and off and no issues. They induced me at 37 weeks because of it and the cord was very compressed but this only became apparent during my first contraction!! Go get checked out at the hospitalb
