Anyone else suffering from Rosacea in pregnancy? What products are you using that help soothe the skin? Which Cleansers and Moisturizers do you recommend? I've never had it before this pregnancy.

My mum has it and the main thing is to stay away from oils.

Boots do a Rosacea range that's quite reasonable and she has laser treatment for it too (she is a munro bagger so wind damage on her cheek etc as well).

After two weeks of using the products the red had cooled down and she has to use Bare Minerals make up and SPF 50 on area too.

Obviously have a look around, avoid oil based stuff and I'm not sure if Micellar water is ok for make up removal.

Thank you so much @gryffen that really helps me have an idea where to start and what to look for Smile

Welcome lass

You defo don't need to spend huge amounts on products but due to what it is you need something that works and is affordable. I know doctors can prescribe things but not sure it is safe in pregnancy due to steroids so check Boots shelf (It's in the skincare aisles and a blue or grey tub) but some maybe boxed - just look for Rosacea treatment on it.

Hiya, I had rosacea flare up a lot in the second trimester and it hasn't gone away, but I spent a long time researching products and it has calmed down a lot with what I've bought. I didn't want to go to the doctor and get anything for it while pregnant, even if only a topical gel.

I think the products that will work for you can be very individual and depends on what sort of rosacea you have - mine is mostly acne rosacea on the nose (gets v inflamed) with a little flakiness as well on my cheeks.

The anti-redness avene range is good (it's in boots) and I use the redness relief cleansing milk to wash my face, it's really gentle. Only pat dry with a towel, never roughly wipe.

Moisturizer I use kalme day cream - it's only online and website looks a bit dodgy. It's legit though and it had an immediate and the greatest effect on my inflammation.

After applying that, clinique's anti redness range - daily protective base is brill and then lastly if you wear makeup they have a good anti red foundation too.

Sorry for the long msg but it took me a long time to find stuff that worked so I'm keen to share to help others!! Hope you find something that suits you, rosacea is rubbish!

I have rosacea, not related to pregnancy specifically though. What really works for me is managing stress and exhaustion (so if you're stressed, find ways to not be and get to bed earlier) and changing how I wash my face. I've only used the oil cleansing method on my face for the past few years and it's gotten completely rid of it. I make up an oil blend myself to use and I've carried on using this in pregnancy and it's kept it at bay. Before that, it was horrible. I did 2 three month courses of antibiotics to deal with it, which was really awful. Turmeric also helps, so you might try tumeric teas, but personally I've stopped using any tumeric in more medicinal quantities in pregnancy (used to take tumeric capsules). It's basically largely an inflammatory condition so anything that manages inflammation for you should help.

Thanks everyone so much Flowers xx

Will look at the recommendations and try out what works best for me. I don't want to get any medicated cream incase of side effects so it's really great to hear there are products I can buy myself which can help.
