Mismatched boobs

OK - it's a bit complex and involves a graphic description of my breasts. Feel free to stop reading now.
DP and I started TTC in Feb. After I would have ov'd my boobs started to change; aureole spread and got kind of puffy, boobs were quite sore and tingly, felt larger and I had to buy a bigger bra, veins became more visible. All symptoms were more noticeable on one boob than the other. Was convinced I must be pg but tested negative and along came AF, slightly early (cycle usually absolutely regular).
Cycle two, the breast that had changed less went pretty much back to normal, the other one was still a bit puffy and with more visible veins.
Cycle three I got pregnant; I am now 5wks+2, very excited. But still have one boob that looks pg and the other is way behind; the veins have just about started to appear but it's smaller than the other and less puffy. This is my first pregnancy and I'm planning to BF; should I be worried about my bizarre 'non-pg' boob or just ignore it? Has anyone else had similar?

Hi fleacircus- CONGRATULATIONS! on your BFP.
Don't worry about your boobs being slightly uneven- I am also unfortunate to have slightly different sized ones... which is exagerated when I am PG. I have BF 2 DC both for nearly a year. When the milk comes in there was NO difference in size or production for either breast... however when babies started eating other things and breast milk was not main food, the smaller boob did start to produce less, and DC started to favour the bigger one! Which then made the problem worse. Make sure when you do BF that you swap sides regularly. I also had a friend who had absolutely NO boobs, but still successfully BF 2 DC as well.

I am sure that as you progress in your PG then both of your breasts will change. I am 13 wks and have already gone up nearly 2 cup sizes .

Thanks Honeyapple for the reassurance and sorry it's taken me so long to say so - I lost the thread! Now my other breast seems to be doing it's best to catch up so I guess they'll end up evenish eventually.. maybe...

Hi, no advice I'm afraid as I'm only 26 weeks myself, but mine have always been a bit uneven. I'd say the right one is a C cup and the left one a B, although it isn't noticable with clothes on. And yes, the big 'un has got bigger and it's leaking, and the other one IS technically working but never leaks. Oh, the joys!

I'm not worrying about them now though because it could all change! Bet the baby favours the big 'un though and I'm walking round with one dolly parton and one raisin on an ironing board.

Oh no, I mean its, not it's, I'm more embarrassed by that than by discussing my breasts.

fleacircus - you know like them cars that are actually two different cars welded together? I reckon that's what's going on with my pg body. I look like I've been spliced down the middle and I have two completely different person's boobs! (and neither look owt like 'mine' or how they used to)

Dunno how helpful that is but at least yr not on yr tod here!

fleacircus · 04/05/2007 12:16

Bananabump - maybe the other one will put on a late spurt, so to speak?

Thanks EJB - it's good to know I'm not some kind of freak! First pregnancy for me, the number of weird things my body is up to doesn't even bear thinking about. It's like being possessed. But in a good way!
