Please tell me this is normal in pregnancy after a CS

The last few days I have had a really bad achey pain in my pelvis, just below my scar. Yesterday it hurt to get up and down out of a chair, today it hurts when I walk as well, and if my bladder is full it kills. It feels like it has been bruised.

I had DD by CS nearly 15 months ago and I am 16 weeks pregnant so can anyone who has had a gap like that tell me if this is normal? I am seeing MW on tuesday anyway but am not sure if I should worry or not.

This could be round ligament pain, but I'd worry it was your scar. I'd probably call the maternity unit ...

Way to stop me panicking

Am going to docs tomorrow for DD's cough so might tack on an appt for me too...

I am 33 weeks pregnant after a c-section in May 05. I have been having very similar pain along my scar line for the last 3 weeks. Hurts sharply when I get up too quickly from a chair, sometimes hurts like a stitch pain when just moving about. I phoned the midwife and they asked me to go to the mat ward for monitoring for an hour or so.
Apparently with me it is adhesions breaking down (or something). Basically they said that scar tissue forms from the c-section and joins layers of tissues and muscles at points across the scar line and when you are pregnant again these pull apart (?) as your skin etc stretches. It is, they said, harmless. But they did ask me to keep phoning back in again if the pain was bad so they could keep a check on things just in case.
It might be something different for you all together and I'm not sure if I have explained it very well (I am not a medical person) but I really think you should phone your midwife and have a chat about it. They will be able to check everything is ok and hopefully reassure you.
Fingers crossed for you - it is worrying isn't it?

It's not round ligament pain as I had it really bad both pregnancies and it doesn't feel like that, it's too low down and it's all the time, it just gets worse when I move..

Chirpygirl - is it right down around your pubic bone? Does it hurt when you make any twisting movement (like turning over in bed, or getting out of the car)? If so, it could be spd (symphysis pubis dysfunction). (the link is to an info leaflet from addenbrookes hospital). If it is, then you need to get yourself referred to an obstetric physio asap (ask your midwife) - don't let anybody put you off and tell you that there is nothing you can do about it - I listened to that rubbish when I was pg with ds, and by the time I persuaded anybody that I couldn't cope, I was too pg for physio to be of any help!
this site is also incredibly helpful!

I'm pg again (17 weeks) and have got the first twinges of spd - and have already asked for my physio referral. (am also a pg after c section, so am experiencing scar pain too!)

Take care!

Thanks guys, I was thinking of SPD but a friend had it very badly so am depsrately wishing for it not to be that!
Shall have a chat with MW when I see her, no point ringing them as I always get the one I don't like and who thinks I am a pita...

My sister and sil both had larger gaps. My sister had 2 years between pregnancies and my sil had 6 years and both complained of pain around their scars although with varying degreees.
