Anyone else pregnant with a >10yr gap?

Feeling a little apprehensive, will my body remember what to do etc. Had my dd at 18 and now 31, due in August. She'll be 13 by then.
Anyone else in a similar situation? Or care to share your experience of second birth many years after the first? First was very straightforward for me, maybe I'm too complacent and I should worry more! Planning a home birth...

Not pregnant myself but 12 year gap between my brother and I. I adore him :)

Yes I live in Germany. DS was born in the UK so it will be interesting to note the differences.

The other aspect is of course the impact on your life. Older dc are semi independent, suddenly we are going to be back in baby land! My dd does her own homework, showers etc. Can stay home alone even! I'm used to being able to sleep when I want, go out when I want, etc. I'm hoping I can get plans in place to give me regular breaks... I do not function on broken sleep! Willing to admit I'm a bit apprehensive about that!

Ha, yes, for sure.

We ended up telling DS on Christmas day and now he is being very sweet but I can't tell if it's just an excuse XD he told me to get up because lying around isn't good for the baby, then he made me eat breakfast. Bless him. I'll have to get him to remind me to take my vitamins because I always forget Blush

18 and 19 year age gap here.

I was 17 when I had my d's, 18 when I had my dd, both normalish pregnancies and labour.
I'll be 37 when I'm due in July - eeeek!! Can't believe I'm doing it again! I am really excited tho. I have a long list of health issues this time around but I am being monitored closely.
Kids are super excited and both are now of good babysitting age 😉

If this sticks, there's going to be a 22 year old age gap between mine!

TheGrumpySquirrel · 31/12/2017 09:51

The other thing I'm wondering is that when I had dd, she was over 4 weeks early and I had a super fast labour (4 hours from waters going, no contractions until after that, to baby). At the time they told me if I ever had a second baby to get to hospital very early as it would likely be even faster(!!). I'm planning a home birth this time anyway but does anyone know if second baby faster labour thing holds true even after such a big gap?

Not pregnant but 13 years between dd1 and ds, 11 years between dd2 and ds. I was 38 when I had him. all 3 were sections and his was by far the best.

Grumpy, I was reading about it in my last pregnancy and apparently yes it does. I had thought I read some here that it 'resets' but apparently not.

Oh good, hoping for a nice quick one this time too 🤞🏼
