34+4 intense pressure low down and pain

Hi

So basically i'm 34+4 .. had a scan today due to GD. Measuring to date and consultant said everything is fine so labour will be natural unless something comes up later.

The doctor wasn't able to get head measurements because she said baby was too low down!

Anyway, since the past 40 mins I'v been getting braxton hicks - intense and a real pressure going down my back hole (not sure how else to put that!) at the same time. I'v had around 5 in the space of 40 mins! And babys moving more than usual aswell.

I'm well aware of braxton hicks but with dc1 and durin this pregnancy so far its just my stomach tightening!

What is this? Are these what you would call 'intense braxton hicks?' or do i need to keep an eye on it. The pressure down below is intense though! Maybe the babys position? Movement??

I was getting that around 34/40. Baby had squirmed down and was putting pressure on my rectum, plus lower abdo pain and toghtenings... fun fun. All whilst at work

I’ve been getting the exact same on and off since 35weeks. Now 38weeks. I’ve been told I have an irritable uterus. It really sometimes feels like it’s labour starting but eventually cools off. Yesterday I couldn’t sit down because o felt like babies head was going to come out, nothing this morning though!

snap I was told irritable uterus too.

MummyToBeAgain1 · 16/12/2017 22:28

Really! Ooo it might be that then! I don't want to be a nuisance ringing hospital for every small thing so it's good to know if others have experienced similer..

I guess if it was labour.. it would have continued today.. but it hasn't so it obviously wasnt!

Sets you of in right a panic though.. Hmm

How would the doc diagnose an irritable uterus? I had a scan yesterday. Everything was fine..
