best maternity pillows?

I was just wondering if any of you ladies have strong preferences on what constitutes a great maternity/pregnancy pillow for ensuring a good night's sleep when bumps have become larger...?

I have been using normal pillows (one between legs, one supporting bumps although not always) and keep losing them in the night... so thinking of buying a 'proper' maternity pillow... There seem to be a lot on the market (or at least on Ebay!) but don't want to spend too much on something that isn't much of an improvement!!

All tips welcome!! xx

I bought this 'Big V' pillow.
Expensive, but I thought it was well worth the money.
I used it throughout pg, for bf support and am still using it now dd is 14 months old for reading/watching telly in bed.

maternity pillows? they think of everyting now.
I put 2 pillow in a V shape, it worked OK and then as ou nod off you can sleep on them too!

When I got big I used to put another pillow under my leg as I like to sleep on my side!

Are they expensive, could you use the money elsewhere?
And you have to store them. But what do I know I am very old!

Hi there, I bought this NCT pillow - Dream Genii Pregnency Support Pillow . and it was terrible, uncomfortable and I've gone back to regular pillows!
Hope this is helphul?!

Thank ladies! Have to say Wotzsaname I kind of agree with you- I could certainly use the money elsewhere and so far in spite of frequently losing my pillows I'm sleeping pretty well (27 weeks gone now...so still early days I guess!). Don't want to spend £30+ on something that isn't much better!! My DS was delivered at 30 weeks (due to pre-eclampsia) so never got big enough last time to really need many pillows... did get a second-hand wedge pillow but again would lose that each night (I am a bit of a wriggler!)! I guess I'll see how I get on but if I do think one would help the big V pillow sounds good... xx

Hi madmum- I suffered without until I was 26 weeks- was SO glad I got a big pillow then, even if it was expensive.

I bought the mothercare long pillow- its basically like 2 normal pillows long. Was 25 but I LOVE it and use to rest bump on/put between knees/hug every night- am now 40 weeks and cant imagine I'll give it up even after birth!

I bought a big long pillow from John Lewis - finding it v helpful now because I can hug it and put it between my knees and it will stay there. Not sure how helpful it will be when breastfeeding because it is rather large....

I've found that one of those cushies/ cushties cushions you can get (the really soft ones) Work wonders under my bump. Also, my cousin lent me a pillow similar to a v one, but more curved and that is great too. I have such an asortment of pillows and cushions around me at night my Husband laughs as it takes me about 10 mins to get into position, and then inevitably I need to swap sides so it takes 10 mins to sort that out too!

Princess I used one of them too and it was ideal. Bought a maternity pillow and ended up not using it - far to big for the bed and not that comfy. DS now has it in his playpen

I just have a soft square one that i use like a door stopper under my belly and it works fine. It now looks like a door stopper as well.

It helps that we have a super king size bed so maybe that is why it doesn't fall off the side. I'm 35 weeks and sleeping fine with it. Good luck

I was trying to get comfy with normal pillows but found they kept falling out of bed. Got a V shaped pillow from Argos for £5.99 a couple of weeks ago and it's been great. Argos V shaped Pillow Link
Even if you don't like it, it won't have cost you a fortune
