Help!!!! I'm only 7 weeks and I don't fit into any of my usual clothes! It's like PMT on steroids! My tummy is bloated and my boobs are huge!! Any suggestions for dressing to hide it a bit?? Even my PMT jeans won't button up! And suggestions of where to buy. I usually wear quite a fitted look so my usual go tos are just making me look worse!!!

Around the 7 weeks stage, I went up a size in tunic style outfits and jumper dresses as they seemed more forgiving than fitted clothes. There's an art because if the front part is too loose it looks very maternity-ish, but one size up seemed to just give me the looseness that I needed to conceal things and I probably just looked as if I had gained weight, which I had.

Loop a hairbobble through the button hole of your jeans then around the button. Buy some longer tunic type tops. Saisburys have some light sweaters with a sort of loose undershirt coming out the bottom enough to hide a small bump.

I am having the same problem jingle. I am almost 13 weeks with my 2nd and it's proving so difficult to hide now. As another poster said, go for longer style tops. I have got long t shirts that I sort of pull up and bunch round the waist of my jeans so there is lots of fabric round my tummy rather than a long flat bit if that makes sense. And chunky cardigans and I pull round myself and pretend I'm cold in the office!

Hair and trick for jeans and then looser tops. If anyone comments make out you're embarrassed at how much you've been eating recently because all the yummy Christmas food (cheese, pate, chocolates & wine) is in the supermarkets and you've been out at a lot of social events recently. Not that I think anyone really would openly comment on weight gain.

Moanyoldcow · 13/12/2017 19:35

I used long scarves to drape down and disguise the bump.

Kpo58 · 13/12/2017 19:49

Don't uses long scarves draping down over your tummy. If you do, you might as well put a neon sign above your head saying "I'm pregnant" as only pregnant people do this.

jingleberries · 13/12/2017 20:13

Brilliant! Thank you. I'm on line looking at stuff but everything seems to be fitted tops with lovely fluted arms!! Have already started with the hair band trick but need longer looser tops! I can't believe how ( I will go with) curvy I look when I can't stand the look of food! Has anyone tried those waist band extender things on amazon??

Layer tops as it breaks up the line and disguises a bump better. So shirt with jumper over the top and shirt tails sticking out (or the 2 in 1 fake versions) work really well, and scarves as well.

Glad it's not just me @jingleberries... 7+6 here and have the exact same problem as you. How can my jeans possibly not fit already... I'm sick every day and my diet currently consists of apples, dry crackers and baked potatoes when I can stomach them!! 🙈

I've been managing with leggings and loose tops for the past week or two, but as of next week we're away for Christmas and it will be all family gatherings and meet ups with friends etc. so I don't think I can get away with such a slouchy look! Might have to invest in some bigger jeans... Just hate the thought of buying clothes in bigger sizes when I'm just going to have to swap them again for maternity clothes in a few months time!

What about something like this?

But in a size up]]

Stillwishihadabs · 13/12/2017 20:33

Don't worry about buying a size up (but don't break the bank) you WILL use them again on the way down- I promise

jingleberries · 13/12/2017 21:39

Oooh Napqueen that's lovely! Thank you. Now have that and several other tops in my bag. Also bought a size up in some M&S jeggings but the app won't give me my 10% off so have now fallen out with online shopping!!! I did say I have PMT on steroids!!!

And hannknitted I know the feeling. I also have a large group of friend who blithely say they wore their favourite jeans all the way through their pregnancy ( so glad no one has said that here, it does make me want to sob!!) My wardrobe entirely consists of fitted shirts and jumpers and dresses. I don't own legging except gym ones ( don't have the legs for them!) I am now down to three wrap dresses that still fit and that's it!!! However, highly recommend a good wrap dress for comfort and hiding things, just can't wear them every day!!
