Night Sickness?

I am in my 25th week of being pregnant and not suffered from morning sickness or anything like that in the slightest, but over the past couple of nights I have been waking up for hours due to a horrendous sickly feeling. I haven't yet been sick but have been heaving and can feel bile rise (disgusting.. I know).
I am exhausted and just wondered whether anyone had some remedies? I have been sipping water but that makes it worse and I've read about honey and ginger in hot water... anyone have any other ideas?

Are you sure it's not heartburn? - for me it's the same feeling as bile in my throat. I've had it since about week 20 really bad (38 weeks now). Have a bottle of gaviscon by my bed and have to take it through the night. Not fun! I did also go through a phase for about 3 weeks of waking up feeling sick - although it was just a case of being sick then back off to sleep! Hope you feel better soon Smile

Sounds like you need omeprazole for gastric reflux. I've been taking it for the majority of my pregnancy!

I agree, sounds like heart burn/indigestion. Go to your GP and get a prescription.

Ahhh it could be i've never had heart burn/indigestion this bad before so literally had no idea. Tried to buy something from over the counter and they refused and said I need a prescription from my Dr!! How annoying, I'm at the midwife Monday so will mention it to her then and see whether they can do something for me Sad

The midwife will do nothing as they cannot give you ranitidine or omeprazole. You have to go to GP unfortunately!

You might not need the medications that the pp's are suggesting though so may not have to go to the drs - I get gaviscon advance on prescription (you can buy it without but I've been getting through a large bottle every 2 weeks so I use my exemption certificate with the prescription as otherwise it would have cost a fortune the amount I get through!) I've never had to go to the doctors for it - my midwife just calls the doctor for me and tells him I need the prescription and then I go and collect it later in the day. It tastes gross but it does the trick for me! Obviously don't take anything without checking with midwife first though!
