Did anyone have hot baths in pregnancy? I'm worried can anyone reassure me?

I know you are not meant to have really hot baths in pregnancy, so I have cooled my (normally red hot) baths down a bit during pregnancy. So I thought I was doing ok.

However, I then read somewhere you should bath at 37 degrees (body temp) so I bought a water thermometer and ran a bath to 37 degrees but it didn't feel warm at all to me! Yet my mum said it felt hot to her.....

So now I am worried that the baths I have been having (which I thought were not too hot) have actually been really hot all along...

I'm really worried. Can anyone reassure me?

There will always be anecdotal evidence of someone who did something you're not supposed to do and their baby turned out fine. That doesn't mean it's safe for everyone to do it as a matter of course. My midwife said hot baths (even as low as 40 degrees) could cause miscarriage or birth defects such as spina bifida.

What's done is done though, and if OP's baby had suffered birth defects the hospital would probably have picked it up by now. I myself had a couple of hot baths before realising I was pregnant and my baby is fine.

The rule I heard was that if you can sit in it straight away, it’s not too hot :D

I did and my LO is a very warm baby and loves really warm (as warm as the duck let me) bath

Agree with everyone else, your body will give you a sign if its not ok.
I fainted whilst on holiday at 12 weeks due to overheating. After a sit down and lots of cold fluids I was fine.

Hot baths here all the way and both ds's seem ok.
Yes we all dress up as chickens at midnight, but apart from that ........
