Reduced Movement

31+4 had reduced movement today. Went over to the hospital spent an hour on the trace machine and everything is okay. Heartbeat is good, heart rate is good too. Sent home and told to keep an eye on movement for 24+48 hours and still if baby isn’t as active to go back over. Anybody else had the same issue? Just really want our baby girl here now.

Thanks

I've been in hospital 4 times now with reduced movement leading to a growth scan.

All is fine. Sometimes he just doesn't want to move. It terrifies me.

The important thing here is you have done the right thing and been checked straight away. And you must continue that habit anytime you feel the need Smile

I went in so many times for monitoring. Keep doing that whenever you need to.

LadyRenoir · 11/12/2017 18:44

Yup, went in twice when the baby had a really lazy day, and twice our little bugger decided to have a dance off the very moment I sat on the bed to be monitored!

They did say both times it's better to come than not to come and then regret.

I went in for reduced movement a couple of weeks ago, baby had a very quiet couple of days and I developed more grey hairs 🙈 baby also been a bit lazy this weekend but had a midwife appointment today and she urged me to go to be monitored if there is ever any change in movement, they really can't stress it enough so I would always go with your instincts. Currently being kicked like it's going out of fashion but i weirdly love it Smile

Yep. Movement kept reducing so they moved my maternity care to the FHU. Had 1-2 regular monitoring sessions each week plus any other spells of reduced movement checked throughout the third trimester. It was such a relief when DD was safely delivered and we got the answer to the reduced movement question.

Always, always, always get reduced movement checked

Girlwiththearabstrap · 11/12/2017 19:41

As others have said, always get checked for reduced movements. They would much rather see you and nothing be wrong than you sit at home worrying and potentially miss a problem.

I went in a few times with my daughter. Nothing wrong any time at all - she was a quiet baby, I had an anterior placenta and didn't seem to feel much movement.

Thanks everyone. The wee one isn’t a quiet one she’s very active and we can usually see my tummy moving in every shape so was very worried when I wasn’t even getting kicks. Although I’ve heard the heartbeat I can’t shake the worried feeling that I have. Stress pains and a headache to go with.

I went to triage 13 times for one of my twins... her twin moved to head down at 32 weeks and Overnight she no longer had a pattern of movements. One day would feel her loads and the next one nudge.. it was really hard.
Ended up being induced 4 days earlier than planned so as to not keep pushing it.. no reason was found but I don't regret being vigilant.. i just always had a book handy!

I've seen my midwife twice about this and she was definitely more than happy I called and was seen. Always better to safe

cbearmum · 11/12/2017 22:18

I went in a few times with reduced movement, always felt a bit dramatic but so worth it. I was kept in on the fourth time and baby delivered that weekend, four weeks early!

ruthieruthuk · 12/12/2017 00:10

I was at the hospital loads with movement issues, was always good to be reassured that everything was ok, best to be safe n go in and it doesn't usually take long, all the best xx
