Thirty weeks today and shattered.

mogulfield · 13/12/2017 05:39

It’s nice to see other people at the same stage as me 😊 30+3 here and have started getting pain in my left hip from all this sleeping on my left side, hence why I’m awake at this hour!

Other than that I’m feeling pretty good so far. I already have a 3 year old, so have paid little attention to getting stuff for the new baby as I’m convinced I’ve got what I need... but I need to actually have a sort and get new bottles, nappies, etc!! I’m just going to do it after Xmas like others have said.

Not given a thought to hospital bag either and I can’t remember what I put in my last one! I work from home so no mat leave considerations this time round, but last time I went off at 37 weeks and then baby didn’t come till 42!

Brenna24 · 15/12/2017 11:34

Glad you are doing well now Maple. I had a bleed from 7 to 8 weeks this time, bang on when we had one with the first mc. It was scary but we got through it.

Thanks Coffee. It has been tense, but we have got there.

I don't know whether baby is brecch or turned yet Anna. I have a growth scan on Monday, so I will find out then. My gut feeling is that it has turned as I suddenly went from having a lot of pressure on my stomach and lungs to pressure in my pelvis instead. That could just be the whole thing dropping though.

We are going away this weekend and my plan is to use the bag from that when we get back as the start of my hospital bag and pack it next week. I'll be 32 weeks then, so early fro having it all done, but it saves putting the stuff away and getting it back out.

Anna2006 · 16/12/2017 16:56

@Brenna24 that’s good that you’ve felt pressure and feel it has tuned. Think mines still in same position and expect midwife to say same thing when I see her on Thursday. Just praying it decides to turn round. Think it’s made me think ahead about the birth & get anxious that actually most of it is uncontrollable. An I like to be in control 🤣🤣 oh dear lol.

How do all you ladies feel about upcoming birth?

Brenna24 · 18/12/2017 21:46

32 week growth scan today. Baby is head down and engaged (which explains the sore pelvis and bladder) and weighs about 4lb 2oz, which is at about the 75th centile. So definitely no growth restriction. Its abdominal circumference is just above the 95th centile, so they are going to do the dreaded Glucose Tolerance Test next week to see if I have gestational diabetes.

Anna I like to be in control too. That is the bit that worries me most about the birth.I am so relieved I was right and the baby has turned and engaged. That sets us up nicely, although if it hadn't there is still plenty of time yet.

maplebaby · 19/12/2017 07:32

Hope you had a nice weekend away Brenna and glad baby is head down! Hope the GTT goes ok next week!

I had a consultant appointment on Friday (they had me as high risk because of the IVF). They signed me off now but booked me in for an induction on my due date as they don't want me to go over. I had wanted a waterbirth but only allowed one if I go into spontaneous labour before 40 weeks!

Anna Feeling alright about the birth strangely but plenty of time for that to change! Just focussing on Christmas for now!

Anna2006 · 19/12/2017 11:00

@Brenna24 oh good news that baby is head down & engaged. Wish I knew what mine was doing as making me a bit anxious! Not that anything is predictable but to know there in right position at least is a good start isn’t it lol! Bet you feel a little relieved. Stay put baby.

@maplebaby yes don’t blame you. Will enjoy Christmas and new year an then the wait will really be on. What will be will be I guess. Nice natural labour would be ideal by when do we ever get ideal lol?! Guess you will try prepare best you can for being induced. I hear lots of positive stories tho not all bad ones.

What are your official due dates?? Mine is 4th Feb. 33+2 today. Got next midwife on Thursday.

Xx

Brenna24 · 19/12/2017 18:04

I am 32+1 today, due date 12th February. I can feel kicks and punches all over, plus the bum moving backwards and forwards across the top of my bump if that helps anna.

Fingers crossed for a spontaneous labout before 40 weeks then Maple

maplebaby · 19/12/2017 19:31

I'm 32+5 and due 8th Feb Smile I cant tell if it's a bum or head, foot or hand but on Friday and my 28 week appointment he was head down so must his bottom! But I feel movement all over so get confused!

MsP0b · 20/12/2017 08:09

Hey all I'm 31+5. In the last 3 weeks I've had 2 midwife appointments and one scan. Once she was lateral- head and bum poking out at either side horizontally, then she was breech, then yesterday she was "oblique" which means diagonal, and kicking so much she had a fast heart rate from the exertion.

We are preparing for a VERY active child!

mogulfield · 20/12/2017 11:03

I’m 31+ 2 here and very confused about what position baby is in! They couldn’t really tell at last appointment but I’m feeling movements (kicks from legs or punches from arms?!) all over the shop! I do feel something down near my bladder but also up at the top of my rib cage.
I’ve been trying to sit on my gym ball when at my desk to prevent the horror that is another back to back labour 😂 (it wasn’t so painful but just looooong).
Anyone got any tips to work out what way round they are?!

Anna2006 · 20/12/2017 20:09

@mogulfield I have no idea. Very confused as to where mine is to. I know what side it’s lying. But can’t work out if it’s head it the hard lump or the bum! They say if the hard lump move on its own it’s the head. An if it only moves when rest of body does it’s the bum but meh?! Who knows.

I have midwife tomorrow so will see what she thinks again. But I’m pretty sure it hasn’t moved since 2 weeks ago!

Anna2006 · 21/12/2017 12:48

Saw MW this morning. Said baby is now head down so it must of moved. And is 1/5 engaged. So pleased she no longer thinks it is Breech 😊😊

Brenna24 · 22/12/2017 18:14

Brilliant news Anna Grin

MsP0b · 26/12/2017 12:16

I think mine moved overnight... feels like a bunch of legs and feet right at the top now. Hope that's her well positioned now!

Hope you all having a lovely festive time x

Brenna24 · 26/12/2017 13:17

Great news MrsP. My motto for this christmas appears to be I Regret Nothing. Grin I ate a full plate of christmas dinner and it took me 6 hours to feel like pudding. It was good though.

Anna2006 · 26/12/2017 20:42

Had a lovely Christmas period. An excited to pick up our pram in the new year. An also start packing of my hospital bags.

Need to decide which baby outfits to pack 🙈 how many will you guys be taking? General consensus seems to be 3 sleepsuits/vests etc.

Kpo58 · 26/12/2017 23:01

My DH got woken up last night by my baby kicking him (I was hugging DH at the time) Xmas Grin

I have no idea how many baby outfits to pack, though I was in for a week last time. Just make sure your DP knows where the rest of them are before going to hospital. Also make sure that he knows where the comfortable knickers are, otherwise you can guarantee that they will bring cheese wires thongs or other skimpy underwear, which is not what you want.

MsP0b · 29/12/2017 10:12

Good tip re. comfy knickers! I'm going to buy more as well.

My baby is stubbornly breech still. Also gets long bouts of hiccups. Sleeping difficult for me at the moment.

Brenna24 · 29/12/2017 12:11

My sister is being shown where all the giant knickers and spare pads are. She can get them out for DH.
