Hi all,

I am really a bit worried right now. I came off the pill back in August. I was Ttc a couple years ago so experienced a few similar things this time around eg spotting when not on period, very long, heavy and irregular periods, mood swings. Over the past 4 weeks or so, I had a very short light period, perhaps lasting around 4 days or so. I then stopped, was off for a week and then it started back again with very intense cramping. Still very light bleeding in comparison to what I’m used to. This lasted around two weeks, and then stopped again. For the last week I’ve had cramping but no bleeding. I’ve also been very tired and felt very run down.

It only occurred to me today that maybe all this isn’t usual for coming off the pill and perhaps I am pregnant. I did a test, and right away it shows a very strong positive. Fantastic! We’re over the moon, but I can’t get myself excited with all the cramping and bleeding I’ve been having, surely these arent good signs? Also considering I’ve been drinking throughout all this time.

I’m going to book a gp appointment this week. So hopefully they can tell me something more definitive, but I wouldn’t have a clue of conception date because I thought I was still having my period.

Any advice or words of wisdom please before I lose my mind?

Do see the gp. They'll want to try and date conception so you get your 12 week scan at the right time ish. Maybe they'll do a block d test. Sounds very promising to me. I had three small bleeds, one with painful cramping before my 12 week scan. Was sent to the epu for scans on two of those ocassions but it was a 5 day wait each time. My dd is now 18 months and currently dragging a toy dog around the room whilst wearing oven gloves.

Congrats OP! Looks like a very strong positive to me. I also had spotting on and off in the early days and what you're describing sounds similar to me. Get yourself scanned! x

Hi all,
Phoned gp surgery today and they just do self refer onto midwife, via a form so I’ll go after work and get that done.
Nothing else to report. Been feeling very nauseous today but no more cramping and no more bleeding, although I did pass a lot of egg white like discharge this morning.

I’m scared now in case it’s twins!!

Hope I’m not getting addicted to poas. But this fits in with my guess I’m about 8 weeks. Filled in form to register with midwife, fingers crossed everything goes well from now on.

Dont be scared, twins are awesome. Hard work but then one baby is hard work. More than twice the fun Wink

If you think you're 8 weeks then that would explain the strong line. I think i misread your posts. I was 11dpo when i got my strong line. Smile
