Ideas for pain relief during pregnancy (not labour)

Does anyone have any tips for dealing with non-pregnancy related pain? I am 4 and a half months pregnant and have recently pinched a nerve in my shoulder. It is driving me bonkers due to constant sharp throb and numbness down my arm too. Paracetamol doesn't touch it. Can't take ibuprofen. Can't even have a bloody glass of wine to take the edge off!
I have been to physio today which helped a little and am just using heat pads and trying to rest as much possible.
Someone suggested I could try a tens machine but I have since read this isn't recommended before 37 weeks.

Any tips/ideas gratefully received!

Ice would likely be better than heat for nerve pain. Or alternate-ice on the spine and heat on the muscles. Also biofreeze.

Co-codamol. I take it for SPD and migraine.

Great - thanks!
I am alternating ice and heat and that its working a little. Will have a rummage as I know we have some co-codamol somewhere. Didn't know it would be ok in pregnancy. Here's hoping for a better night's sleep tonight!

Yes, I mean, obviously don't go crazy but I was on 60mg per dose for SPD last pregnancy and otc is something like 16mg per dose so otc is fine. Just not solpadeine as it has other stuff. Consultant told me just last week otc co-codamol was fine.

Cold
Heat
Cocodamol (not near delivery)
Magnesium spray

Could try the forehead stick on it? Works very well on headaches so may have some muscular effects

Bubble bath and hot water bottle help
Me a lot with aches and pains

Cold always makes my nerve pain worse (but some people are the opposite), a hot water bottle is a blessing! Baths etc. paracetomol to take the edge off or cocodomol. I used tiger balm which COMPLETELY took the pain away but then I read that it may not be allowed during pregnancy (too late by this point!) so didn’t do it again, but this was for my jaw and it hasn’t come back since, after being a sufferer

Thanks again for the replies, the ice definitely works better than heat.
Looked up tiger balm too and agree it looks like it's not recommended (due to the camphor).
Good to have a few different options up my sleeve now though. Feels reassuring :)

I'm going really hippy and doing some pregnancy yoga and hypnobirthjng. Also science has some good things from eating 6 dates a day 4 weeks pre due date and also drinking red raspberry leaf tea from 32 weeks. It won't h ok with the pain per say but all are meant to be great for speeding up Labour :)

I have actually also decided that if it reeeeally hurts I will skip all of the hippy stuff and go epidural!
