Hi all,

If all goes well (fingers crossed) baby is due at end of June! I was wondering how long it takes to recover after giving birth? I wanted ti get my hubby tickets to ab outdoor festival in mid July for xmas. It wouldn't be end of world if i can't go because he could take a friend...but just if baby does come on time and touch wood it all goes okat, if id be up to walking around and going on a day trip a couple of weeks after?

Its such a silly trivial question to ask...and really least of worries...but if all does go well im just wondering if it's a possibility?

I only had a 2nd degree tear but that, coupled with pure exhaustion, prevented me from going very far in the first couple of weeks. and I had the support of DP and my sister. You'll still be getting used to parenthood, so I would not bank on being able to go.

Congratulations btw :)

My first was 1 day overdue and within 5 days I was up and out. 10days old DD attended Christmas party 😊

I was fine straightaway with each of my five. Obviously sleeping was a bit erratic, but I got used to it.

All of my labours were very straight forward.

First baby i felt like I had been hit by a bus, I ached from head to toe and hobbled like an oap, lochia stopped quickly at around 2 weeks and baby was a dream.

Number 2 felt physically fine but had baby blues and I was exhausted!

3rd labour was great but lochia lasted nearly 8 weeks, lots of clots and spent the first 6 weeks not sleeping and struggling to bf with a severe tongue tie.

Honestly I wouldn't plan on going personally but if he has a friend to go with and you have support then go for it.
