Is vomiting a sign of labour?

I'm 36+5 weeks pregnant with my first baby and am thinking every little thing could be a sign of impending labour!
I woke up suddenly last night and was promptly sick (having not been physically sick at all during pregnancy) once I was a little bit sick I was fine. I had morning sickness in the first trimester but was never actually sick.

I've had the odd braxton hicks (I think, don't really know if they are or not, but basically crampy feelings in back and tummy) but nothing consistent.

Just wondered if anyone found they were sick just before labour as I'd love to think this could be a sign.

Yours hopefully!

It can be... but that doesn't mean that it's imminent my lovely. It could be that you ate something that suddenly decided it didn't agree with you.

what mars said !

at the end of pregnancy, everything gets looked at as a possible sign, doesn;t it??

might be a bug, might be a one off, might be pre labour ! you;ll know either way soon enouggh!

That's the answer I expected to be honest, but hey, I can but hope! Don't think it was anything I ate/bug cos it was only a little bit (tmi!) just seemed very sudden and a bit weird.
But I guess this whole pregnancy malarky is a bit weird anyway!

Hi fluffy,

I interpreted every little twinge as a sign of impending labour with dd and it drove me insane - I went 2 weeks overdue and every day was an eternity. i know it's hard, well Ok impossible, but if you can possibly try not to look for signs, it might make the long long last stretch a bit more bearable.
Good luck x

Echo all the posts, but then you could just do a me and have an absolutely wonderful time on MN enjoying([hmm}) a 7 week labour

I also vomited a few times late on in the pregnancy. But when I checked with the midwives (thinking too, that this was it), they said it was quite common. Your stomach gets more and more squashed and can cope with less and less so anything a bit rich or unusual can set it off. Sorry to disappoint there!
