I don't have my next midwife app untill 28 weeks, but need to have my MatB1 by 25 weeks. How do I go about getting one? Are people usually given them at the 16 week appointment?

Yes, I'm not in a huge rush to get it, just want to know how to get it - there was no mention of it at appointment and I don't want to make an app with GP without needing to! We are similar stage wise yes! And your scan is tomorrow! Are you looking forward to it?

Am 99% sure that the info sent by my employer said that it wasn't available or shouldn't be submitted before 26wks but without rooting through a pile of papers, I can't confirm. If you need it before your next appointment, could you not telephone your midwife and ask her to send one to you? Or arrange to collect it from your local surgery?

No, mine is on Tues -sorry for some reason I thought it was yours tomorrow. Perhaps I am getting muddled about the whole mat b1 thing, my employer isn't making a fuss at all, I just had that in my head for some reason, backed up by the fact DP has to give 15 weeks notice of paternity leave.

MATB1s are given out between 24 and 27 weeks mainly, depending on when you see your m/w. By law you don't have to inform your employer (or provide a MatB1) until 15 weeks before ewc, so plenty of time Hope the scans go well!

ring her and ask for her to post it, or (if midwife is same as ours & at the health centre) leave at reception for you.

Same thing happened to me floss - I did not hand mine in at work until 27 weeks, but no-one seemed too bothered.

Yes Fio, well I say yes, I had a couple at 6 and 7 weeks but there is no baby there to see then really is there? Am worried about it too, have had nightmares so just hope all is well. Can start to really look forward to it all then!

Perhaps it is just that you have to inform employer then?
