Iv been suffering with awful sickness 24 hours a day! For over 3 weeks now.

I got woken up in the night with terrible stomach ache which reminded me of how bad my period pains usually are.
No bleeding but it's now almost been 24 hours with the worst stomach ache!!

I'm 8 weeks pregnant.

Any ideas?
Could it be the fact I'm eating and drinking little? Could it be the fact I keep bringing up stomach acid?

I had terrible pains about that point, they had me doubling up, turned out it was really bad wind and constipation Blush

Do the pregnancy vitamins you are taking have iron in? If they do try switching to just plain folic acid and vit d just in case it is constipation.

Crampy period type feelings are also very normal in early pregnancy though. It's your uterus growing.

Hi Popppy, I had this in early pregnancy (with sickness too). Mine turned out to be a urine infection, which could be a possibility for you as you're more prone to them if you're very sick and dehydrated. I'd suggest popping a urine sample in to your GP for them to check. UTIs don't have the same symptoms in pregnancy as they normally do so you may have no other sign of it, but they can make the nausea worse, and gave me some of the worst pain I've ever had (like very bad period pain, or what I imagine early labour pains to be like - I thought it was terrible trapped wind as I usually suffer with IBS). Just to reassure you, my GP said that she was generally not concerned about cramping in early pregnancy as long as it's not accompanied by bleeding, but I would make an appointment to get checked for reassurance and definitely get your urine checked.

Sorry also should have said that if you are suffering horribly with sickness there are meds you can take, you don't have to just suffer through it without treatment. The charity pregnancy sickness support has loads of really good advice on their website. You might have Hyperemesis Gravidarum and the sooner you get meds for it the better the outcome will be - there is a Hyperemesis support thread on here and all the ladies on there will understand what you are going through with the sickness if you need some support (sorry if you've already been on there and I've forgotten!). x
