I'm ten weeks pregnant and this time round feel much sicker, even though last time I had twins (could it be triplets - ahh?) Everyone seems to think this could indicate I could have a boy (girls last time). Does anyone have any feelings on this - is there any evidence that boys make you feel sicker or is it another old wives' tale?

I was very sick with my first pregnancy until week 20 and that was a boy but after suffering two misscarriages previously I was so grateful to be pregnant I blanked it out. Now only 6 weeks pregnant with number 2 I'm quickly remembering how terrible it was and dreading the next 14 weeks if the pattern is the same - upside is losing so much weight - you are thinner afterwards than when you started out!! Will it be another boy though? My sister is convinced you are more sick with girls so we will have to see.

Hi. With my first pregnancy I had no sickness, and sadly miscarried early on. With my second pregnancy I has sickness straight away, before I'd even missed a period, and it lasted up to about 20 weeks. I had a girl. I have read info about having more sickness with a girl, so I'm hoping for a boy next time! lol!

I felt really sick for about 5 months - people said it must be either twins or a girl - I had a little girl so maybe there is something to this.

Hughsie, I think I have to agree with your sister - I was much sicker with dd (hyperemesis and hospitalised twice) than with ds. Someone told me it's to do with the hormones released being different for the two sexes. Anyone heard this?

Then again I know someone who had 2 girls and didn't have a single day of even so much as nausea, whereas her sister had 2 boys and had severe morning sickness thru most of both pregnancies! ???

I was extremely lucky and had no sickness at all during either pregnancy, one boy and one girl.
