Could this be the start of labour?!

Hey all! Today is my due date. It’s my first baby so reallly do not know what to expect when it comes to labour. I do believe I lost my mucus plug this morning and an hour later I have a constant period pain at the bottom of my bump. Could this be the start or am I wishful thinking! I just want to meet her now!

It's very exciting OP, hopefully not long to go now. My one piece of advice is please sleep if you can! Labour can go on for a long time and you won't be getting any sleep when contractions start properly. For me the cramps started 2 days before I actually gave birth, really wish I had slept more while I could, but I really thought it would be over in a few hours!

Well fingers crossed it’s the start of something! Does anyone know how successful a sweep is?

I’ve heard various stats branded around, but the most common was something like 1 in 7 is successful 😳

With my first I had a sweep at 3cm. I was in labour within 8 hours and when I got to hospital I was 7cm so for me the sweep was pretty effective

Helped with my first but did nothing with my second, cervix was too far back and ended up induced.

So I’m in hospital 6cm dilated 100% effaced but no contractions 💀 so they are watching me and keeping me in 🤞

I remember feeling exactly like this! I was desperate for it to be over. I lost my plug then my waters went the following day! Good luck OP I hope it all happens for you soon xx
