Experiences of c section being covered privately - AXA PPP ?

I'm 26 weeks. Since the start have had a terrible chronic uti. Suffering every day from pain and inflammation (can't work because of pain - it's been utterly depressing!) Both my professor I am seeing for treatment and consultant obstetrician have said c section will be best for me. They've written a letter stating this to my insurance. Anyone have any experiences with getting cover? I'm not holding out much hope! (I'm with AXA under my husbands company policy)
Thank you Smile

It will totally depend on the policy; my AXA PPP coverage through work doesn’t cover anything pregnancy related. Why do you want to go private?

Very unusual for the birth itself to be covered on a UK policy. Unless you are on an international policy?

I was told it would be on a case by case basis when I had a low-lying placenta. It’s always worth asking the question.

Bear in mind, major surgery is often safer in NHS hospitals who tend to have on hand facilities for complications or special baby care which could mean a transfer from a private hospital.

U.K. Policy - they've said they do cover but my letter will need to be assessed by the 'nurses'....
Would rather go private for the aftercare (might as well if I can!) - plus my obstetrician would be able to do the operation privately and I really like him : feel comfortable with him. Obviously the c section and lead up care is the same (and great).

Also I wouldn't want it at the Portland (crazy place) it would be somewhere with access to all medical facilities e.g. Queen charlottes or st Mary's

I had private cover when I had my son and got told at 30 weeks that I had to have a C section at 38 weeks - it covered a private room in an NHS hospital.
I'd take notice of the PP who said there will be better emergency care in an NHS hospital
