I am getting a really sore back. It's definitely my SIJs (sacroiliac joints)

From googling I think it's Posterior Pelvic Pain.

Has anyone else had SIJ back injections during pregnancy? I know they are usually done under x-ray guidance, and I obviously can't be exposed to x-rays during pregnancy. I wonder if/where they could do it under ultrasound.

Perhaps I would need to go privately? I don't know where to start, I don't have another midwife appointment for another 10 weeks Sad

Can I just phone my midwife's mobile number for advice?

I have a lot of SI pain, I don't know anything about injections, but have found a combination of a belt, osteopath and physio to be very helpful.
I was referred for physio by drs but have paid for others myself.
I'm only 16 weeks, so a long way to go, but these things have definately helped so far.
It sucks!

scaredofthecity do you mind telling me what belt you bought? Perhaps you have a link where I can buy one?

I will try and see the GP and see if I can be referred to a physio/ osteo

I bought a serola belt from Amazon. It's the most expensive, but the reviews were very good and I didn't want to buy twice ifswim!
It's annoying to wear, but it really does work for me, its got to be tight though.
I can't walk without it now. So it's pretty invaluable and money very well spent.

Hi OP, I really suffered with SI pain both in my last pregnancy and also this current one, to the point of needing crutches. I have one of those enormous U shaped pregnancy pillows that I sleep with at night and it really helps. I was given a belt by the physio but find it really uncomfortable so tend not to wear it as much as I should but some people get relief from them so certainly worth a try.

scaredofthecity I will go on your recommendation and buy that one then!
Thank you.

Quarterpast I have the dream geni pillow but I'm not very impressed, it's quite flat and I think I'm too tall for it. I didn't buy a u shape one before as im so fussy with my normal head pillows. But I'm beginning to reconsider. I will try anything to fix this back pain.

It probably isn't helping that I have an 11 month old to pick up all the time. But that's life isn't it :)

fingers crossed it works for you as well as it has me.
Be careful picking up your toddler, try to use your core as much as you can. I can't pick my 21/2 year old anymore and it's horrible Sad I feel so guilty.

Best advice i can give is to go to a chiropractor NOW and keep going. I started right at the start and have had no back pain at all when i do usually suffer from it. Can't recommend them enough.
