At what point does it become not normal to be so fricking tired??! I'm 10+6, can barelt keep my eyes open let alone drag my carcass anywhere!! My first two pregnancies were nothing like this, I never felt this utterly exhausted. And sick. And hungry but too scared too eat cos of the sick thing!!

Please fill me with wonderful stories of how this will magically disappear at some point 😬 I seem to spend my days flitting between sleeping, vomiting & crying hysterically into my duvet because this is the utter pits 😭😭

no advice but sympathy - I am 9+3 and totally exhausted! No amount of sleep seems to help! Second baby and with my first I felt a lot more sick but I don't remember the tiredness being this awful. It's grim but it will end...

mustbemad17 · 21/11/2017 13:46

I'm literally sleeping like a depressed person. My poor OH is out working all day, comes home & i'm slumped on the sofa like i'm comatose, nothing done.
The sickness is a new one, never had it the first two. Don't think i'll be going through this again that's for sure; no more babies 😂😂

First trimester I felt as though I was on a constant sleeping pill drip. I'm on leave now but I did drive coaches for a living. I noticed the more tired I felt the more sick I felt also!
For the sickness just eat whatever you can which helps. Some people find bland carbs (crackers, crisps etc.) Can help and also ginger. I had a weird diet of chip shop chips and curry sauce + lemonade which I found help :)
The best tips for tiredness which worked for me.. if you have to be up at a certain time, set your alarm even earlier and allow yourself extra time to wake up. Basically wake up slowly and in your own time instead of frantically rushing out.
Have naps if you can but I could never sleep in the day... and most important is to chill on evenings. My partner was happy to make sandwiches (he doesn't cook that much bless him) and do the washing up / chores so I could rest. Plenty of early nights.

People say by 16 weeks it will ease

I found I didn't find relief from sickness or tired until 19 weeks so don't be worried if it doesn't immediately go. (Some people continue to feel sick all the way through)

My tiredness never really went but eased at 24 weeks when i was prescribed iron tablets for anemia (ask them to keep on top of your bloods if your worried about excessive tiredness)

Now 35 weeks and for the past forever I fall asleep on the sofa before 8 and I just waddle about doing what I can and give myself breaks if I feel tired.
Just be kind to yourself... you will have everyone and their mums trying to push advice and opinions on you. Some can be helpful but just do what works for you

I was shattered the first 14 weeks or so, it eased at the same time the nausea did and I could eat properly again. Now at 31 + 6 and starting to feel the tiredness creeping back in again, now I think it’s more to do with the weight of the bump and the various aches and pains I have all day, plus getting up for the loo 400 tines a night!

mustbemad17 · 21/11/2017 15:51

Thanks ladies. I've never felt this horrific! I'm feeling stupidly guilty too because I'm not working now & currently not managing to do much housework either - my partner is coming home & the place is just chaos. I feel like a useless whale of a pregnant lady right now!!

Hannabee123 · 21/11/2017 15:55

Don't feel guilty just potter about and do what you can. Creating a human is hard :)

mustbemad17 · 21/11/2017 16:02

I can't even remember about bloods, do they do them at the 16 week appt? I'm tempted to get the MW to check for anaemia, I have had issues with it in the past.

Thanks ladies xxx

Oh my god I'm feeling exactly the same.
10 weeks in and feeling awful. Literally like a zombie. Don't remember feeling nearly as bad with now 10 month old (or 7 y/o for that matter!)

katmarie · 21/11/2017 16:10

As others have said, take it easy on yourself. I’ve had the midwife, physiotherapist, DP, my mum and my sister all telling me this week to slow down and look after myself, because building a baby is hard work and I’m wearing myself out. Try not to feel guilty, and let your OH pick up some of the slack, it’s not like you’ll be pregnant forever and it will be worth it in the long run to have a happy healthy mum and baby.

mustbemad17 · 21/11/2017 16:15

Roobrr my OH keeps teasing me because everyone used to say how well i did pregnant. My first pregnancy was a breeze, was decorating up a ladder at 39 weeks no problem. Second was the same, no issues & did the whole blooming thing. Now i'm a crumbling mess of hormones & tears & vomit 😂 Can say hand on heart i will not be having any more babies 😬

My OH is great, he doesn't make me feel bad & is always telling me to rest. I just look around & think 'oh god i have so much to do'

I'm having carpal tunnel surgery next week so that will make it ten times worse as my hand won't work for about ten days if last time was anything to go by 😱😱

Appreciate being allowed to moan haha

Think this is last one for us also! Very big surprise haha.
I moved house at 38 weeks with my 1st - really really shit horrible landlord suddenly decided he wanted his house back after being on a rolling contract for years. Don't feel like I'd even be capable to do it now! 🙈

mustbemad17 · 21/11/2017 16:21

Good god no, i think if someone told me i had to move house now i'd collapse in hysterics 🙈🙈

Yeah I think there's a screening appointment for downs and Edwards early on if you chose to have it. I asked them to check on my levels then as I have low thyroid too and at 16 weeks I think they did - it's all turning into one big blur haha.
I normally just ask my midwife if I'm worried or want levels checking and she will. It's best to be safe and get checked or if they won't do it there and then see if they can arrange a blood test.
Every appointment I go armed with my wee sample notes and a bottle of water ready for my bloods to be done 😁

Ninjamilo · 21/11/2017 18:02

I'm 17 weeks and still super tired - I hope it gets better for you.

I'm thankful it's the only symptom I've had really, although it is frustrating!

Firstchild7 · 21/11/2017 18:06

I'm 30 weeks now and was v tired at the beginning falling asleep when getting home from work ect, it took a while to go about 16 weeks I think started to feel better sickness didn't go till about 21 weeks.

Firstchild7 · 21/11/2017 18:09

Also in would say if u r going to be sick u will be sick I tried lots of things to help but none did, also once was 12 weeks and stoped taking the vitamins I did start to feel a bit better

Hannabee123 · 21/11/2017 18:15

That's a point if your taking pregnacare vitamins it's made alot of women sick / feel sick too.

mustbemad17 · 21/11/2017 18:27

I stopped taking them about two weeks tbh...found them to make my nausea a gazillion times worse

ICanNeverThinkOfAGoodUsrname · 21/11/2017 19:53

Totally normal, I really struggled with tiredness to start off with. I got a couple of months of energy and have gone back to zombie mode again now though. Just enjoy the energy when it comes back at around the 3-4 month stage because it might not last!

mustbemad17 · 21/11/2017 20:09

Guess it goes to show that no two pregnancies are the same! Stupidly was all smug cos my first two were so amazing...i believe karma has said her piece 😂

OP posts:
TheNewMrs · 21/11/2017 20:29

Pregnant with number 1 here but I think my tiredness eased off around the 14 weeks point..
Don't get me wrong, I'm still tired all the time Grin but not that sheer exhaustion that I had in the first trimester! My god I never expected that!

mustbemad17 · 21/11/2017 20:35

It's crap isn't it 😱 I literally feel like every movement is a mammoth effort, even keeping my eyes open some days is a massive achievement 😂 There's almost this part of me that is hoping the scan shows twins so that I have an 'extra' excuse for being so weedy 😂😂😂

OP posts:
Lacey1987 · 21/11/2017 21:06

I was like this in the first trimester the past couple of weeks has been easier I got loads of energy now at 20 weeks it will pass I thought the same was depressed crying thinking I'm gonna be like this the whole 9 months but it does get better Grin

Expectingbsbunumber2 · 21/11/2017 21:29

Power through, that's all I can say. Sleep when you can. It gets a little better in the second trimester
