Any advice on which brand of baby products are the best to buy? We are due on March but want to make the most of the upcoming sales and have held off on buying things until now.

  • Baby Sleepsuits? Which places are best quality?
  • Baby Bouncer
  • Steriliser
  • Bottles
  • Nappy Bag

Any other recommendations too please x

10 week old DD here. This is going to sound like a typical MN response but she loves the bouncy chair which was £20 from either Aldi or Lidl, and the £3 cellular blanket from the same. In terms of sizing the best sleep suits so far have been George from Asda. Nappy bag – I use the one that came with my pram, but frankly I think anything large enough to hold the kit you need is fine, I wouldn’t go for a brand. Steriliser and bottles - we use Tommee Tippee and really like them.

Congratulations!Flowers

I would add that huge amount of expensive stuff we bought for her sitting in the corner unused!

Thank you so much EssentialHummus. So good to hear that budget friendly options are just as good. I know they go through a lot of clothes and George is a purse friendly option!

I would wait to buy bottles.
You don’t know what might suit your baby, so it’s not worth buying a load of them only to find out that the one you’ve gone for isn’t compatible with them.
You should easily get some free samples of different brands by joining boots parenting club, cow and gate club, Emma’s diary etc.

I’ve got three mam, three Tommie Tippie and two nuby so far and haven’t had to pay for any of them.

Mam are self sterilising and as I hope to breastfeed l’ll only need to sterilise once a week so haven’t got anything fancier than the combination Milton cold water/microwave steriliser for now

I had Tommee tippee bottles with DS which were fine. I had to buy new fine DD so got the mam ones as I liked that they are self sterilising. They are also anti colic. DD is only 11 days but suffers much less with wind than DS did. We also got the mam microwave steriliser which we store in the microwave when not in use so haven’t got something taking up loads of space.

DS loved the baby Björn bouncer, we got it for a fantastic price on eBay and it proved so useful.

My DB bought us the Aldi version of a sleepyhead for DD which has been so useful for her to nap on. We can move her around while she’s fast asleep on it so she can join us when we eat dinner etc. Really handy to take when visiting other people, we have somewhere to put her down.

I love Sainsbury’s babygros. Good sizing, great price & wash & wear really well. Stock up when they’ve got the 25% off. I also like John Lewis but bit more expensive. The George vests are good value, 10 for £8 & wash really well.

I splurged on the nappy bag & got a pacapod which has separate pods for nappies & another for bottles so you only have to take the little pod with you when changing the nappy rather than the whole bag. This time round I’ve bought a rucksack changing bag as well as I’m going to be using the carrier a lot more & it will be easier to have it on my back.

Something that I bought when dd1 was about 5 months: one of those cuddle dry apron towels. So useful! When dd was too big for it it was useful to wear as a splash barrier and now using for dd2. Made drying them so much easier, everytime I use it I think "this is so useful!".
