When do I get this and who from? I am now 22+3 and I need to know what I am doing with regards to work.

Thanks

I think you get it around 24 weeks (although I was 26 when I got mine) and your MW should give it to you. At your next apt just ask her and she should do you one. In the meantime, it might be worth just writing to your company to confirm that you are pregnant, your due date and when you intend to start maternity leave (you can change this). I think you need to inform them by 25 weeks. As long as you do this you can always give them the MAT B1 form after.

You should get it at 20 weeks but just ask your midwife at next appointment.

You need to tell your employers in writing before the end of your 25th weeks - your MatB1 can be got from 20 weeks - but I didn't get mine until I was 28 weeks...

Thanks for replying.

I thought it was at 20 week scan. I am not sure if I should get this from midwife at hospital or at my doctors surgery. I have a routine antenatal checkup on Friday with doctor and sister at surgery.

This time I asked for one from my GP and I think they can only be issued after 20 weeks.

Previous pregnancy asked for one from my midwife at about 22 weeks. Both times were never offered and had to ask.

hi there, make sure you take a copy of it before you give it to work as you will never see it again! Not that this is an issue, but if you wnated it for your scrap book or something... :-)

Thanks for replying.

I went to doctors on Friday 22+6 and he said that he wouldn't issue the MatB1 form until I was 26 weeks.

I have to inform my work by 25 weeks so can I do this without the MatB1 form?

Hi Endless- Just write a letter to them, and then give them the MatB1 form when you get it. Providing this is before you go on Maternity its fine as its just for them to give to payroll or something so you get paid.
