Hello!

Latest pregnancy woe, the idea of having to put my bra on Sad

Today I'm just mooching about the house and seeing a friend with a newborn who is regularly stripping off to just make feeding easier and less of a faff and who I have a close very chilled out friendship with. Therefore the fact my giant bosoms are nestled freely under a mere t shirt and thin jumper is of no concern.

But how do I go forwards!? Obviously cannot spend the remainder of my 18 weeks in hiding owing to huge knockers being let loose, but my trusty three hook, full cup wide strap bras are finally just too painful.

Tell me what can be done to provide dignity and comfort when heading for a G cup with excruciating back pain?

Boob or Bust for fitting tips and get something properly supportive tbh. I've worn underwires in properly fitted bras all the way through both pregnancies and I regret absolutely nothing (I'm currently 27 weeks with #2 and a 32HH-J).

If you want a maternity/nursing bra with relatively good support I do like the Panache Sophie, the Freya Pure has flexible underwire and the Hotmilk nursing bras are pretty comfortable (and adjustable) overall.

Firstly, I use this site to make sure I'm in the right size: thebetterbracampaign.blogspot.co.uk/p/fitting-advice.html

Then I wear a combination of Asda comfort bras for round the house/ nipping to the shops and Freya or Panache bras for everyday properly out-in-public use.

You can get Freya/Panache bras off eBay - they do a wide range of sizes and they're reasonably priced - don't know about you, but I can't afford to spend £40 a bra when my cup size is changing every five minutes!

I bought nursing bras (32JJ by the time the baby arrived) from Mothercare when I had my first baby and man were they FUGLY. The assistant in there was also shit and she were actually still using the "measure your back and add 4 inches" method of sizing me. The bras she offered me were absolute crap so I used my own measurements in the end and found a better fit. Still ended up with hideous bras because they didn't have any choice past about a D cup.

Anyway... I digress... I'm going to use eBay this time and just measure myself and filter the bra search by back and cup size and hopefully there will be more choice this way! Apparently Royce are good too, but I've never tried them.

I bought nursing bras to wear during pregnancy - Hot Milk are amazing.

Bravissimo. I was a 34GG pre-pregnancy and they're getting bigger and bigger. The ONLY place I know that does pretty bras in my size is Bravissimo, and their nursing bra selection isn't too bad either. I'm 20 weeks and wearing the Cleo 'Marcie' underwired bra... I chatted to the sales assistant when I went to get re-measured last month and she said it's fine to continue wearing underwired bras right up to the end of pregnancy as long as they fit well.

I bought some really comfy non-underwired bras from amazon, they were also nursing bras too x

And your friendship with your friend sounds awesome, go you guys! X

Why are your bras painful? Because they don’t fit anymore or another reason? I wear 30E - 30GG depending on how big they’ve got during pregnancy, but have always worn underwired because I like the support and not having mono-boob that soft, non-wired gave me. For feeding, I’ve now got Freya Pure underwired bra and I love it. So much better than non-wired bras.
