Is it normal to be *this* sodding tired!?

I'm assuming it is but I don't remember what it was like first time round!

I'm a SAHM, have a 22month old DD and I'm 16weeks pregnant. I'm struggling to drag myself to groups each morning (mostly to help keep DD entertained!) And we generally spend the afternoons playing on the sofa or watching TV.

We're currently doing a puzzle on the sofa until I can muster up the energy to go upstairs to get dressed.

Is this normal or should I speak to my midwife?

Sounds normal to me I'm afraid Flowers

DS was 14mo when I became pregnant with DD and the first 5 months were hideously exhausting. DS had a swift introduction to television and other low maintenance activities because I could only just muster the energy to feed and change him.

It does get better though Flowers

How are your iron levels? I was like this and it turned out I was severely anaemic.

Seems normal to me. I have 26 month old ds and also a sahm and 20 wks preg. I've found it so much more exhausting this time around and also have to drag myself out to groups...if it was just me at home i wouldn't leave the house! He's starting nursery 2 mornings a week on March so that'll give me a couple of hours to rest and hopefully nap with baby when it arrives... but you are not alone it's way harder than I thought x

It sounds normal to me - but still worth getting checked.

I'm 25 weeks pregnant with a 2 year old. I work a four day week and am practically crying when I get home at 6:30pm and still have to do bath, stories and bedtime for an hour and a half. But I'm not sure that the weekends aren't worse!! Ds's and my favourite 'activity' at the moment is spending hours in the afternoon in bed watching Postman Pat. Blush

Oh I'm so disappointed!! 😂 I was so hoping there might be a magic fix.

I have a midwife appointment next week so I'll mention it but most likely I'm just tired Despite getting 11 hours sleep a night .

Thank you all for taking the time to reply.

@lorelai - my DD has spent SO many days watching cbeebies during my first trimester. 🙈 Has to be done sometimes! She loved it!

Ds thinks Postman Pat in bed is the most special time with mummy ever - I know he shouldn't be watching so much TV but confess I am kind of treasuring the time snuggled up together under a duvet. It feelings like mummy/boy bonding time!

But definitely mention it to the midwife... It could be something easily fixed with some iron tablets or something!

We've been playing lots of putting Mummy to bed. I lie down, along with various teddies and she carefully pat's us all to sleep.

Urglewurgle · 16/11/2017 08:23

Yes! I was more tired then than now with 8 week Dd who has only twice in her life slept more than two hours in a go at night.

spnfan · 24/11/2017 08:32

Just as an update, my iron levels were "very good" so I'm just tired. 😒

I'm definitely going to start playing 'putting mummy to bed' with DD. What a great idea!!

I had this. Blood test revealed I was low in B12. They gave me injections that sorted it out. Good luck

lovelyjubilly · 24/11/2017 08:57

Yep. Normal.
I went through a phase of sitting down in the shower during pregnancy as I was just too tired to stand up.
