Hi everyone
I had a growth scan the other day (nearly 34 weeks) and the sonographer asked our birth weights and started saying there is growth compared to the last scan but not as expected. She said we will have a small baby.
We went to see a consultant who has booked us in for another scan in 2 weeks to check the growth again and said that it could possibly be that the measurement is off or it could be problems with the placenta/cord.
The lady did a Doppler and blood flow sounded fine?

I know these scans can be complete bollocks but if they keep finding that she is measuring small will they have her out?

I'm stressed beyond words everyone telling me not to be but has anyone been in a similar situation?
Just want to know what will happen if she isn't growing how they expect :(

They told me my DD was at 6lb and 2 days later she popped out at 7lb 7oz so they aren’t always accurate Flowers

Well... at 36 weeks they told me baby was too small, booked for induction at 37 weeks. They did a scan and said no, come back next week or her head will be too big for you to deliver. She was born at 38 weeks, 6lb 4oz. The whole thing was a bit amateur.

Growth scans are often wrong, my large baby was 5lbs and my small for dates baby was 9lbs.

Growth scans can be wildly innacuarate. I has one at 34 weeks due to pe. Estimated 5lb14 and delivered next day after steroid injections. He was 3lb 9oz.

Although he was tiny here was medically nothing wrong with him. There is plenty of options for teenys now. He is still on high calorie formula at nearly one but has been on the 25th centile since 3 months.

Little ones catch up quick and do make you wonder what all the fuss was about.
