Going back to work tomorrow and could cry at the thought of it - I'm 6wks pg and have spent practically the whole past 2 weeks holidays sleeping. Then this morning with immpecable timing I got terrible morning sickness and have felt sick and washed out all day.
I've read up on all the tips to deal with sickness etc, but lots of them seem to involve eating when you feel like it, taking little naps etc - things I just won't be able to do!
I'm sure when it comes down to it I will just be able to get on with the day, but right now I am picturing myself disolving into tears in front of my Yr1s because I feel so rubbish!
Any hints or tips??!!

I am sorry you are not feeling so good. It is a hard job to do when you are not feeling the best.

FWIW, my easiest pregnancy was my first when I was still teaching. It was the subsequent ones when I was a SAHM that I found myself sleeping at odd times and drifting through the days doing nothing. I think having a job to do helps you to keep going. I can remember I would be OK during the week and then used to spend nearly all the weekends sleeping. Perhaps you can manage in the same way? Also, because you can't exactly put your feet up in the classroom, try to make sure you take a break each lunchtime and put your feet up on a chair in the staff room

I can't help with morning sickness as I did not have it.

I have to agree that my easiest pg was when I was teaching full time- more difficult when part time as couldn't take any time out from DS. (I had Reception when teaching full time and pg, the nursery when part time and pg).
You'll probably be surprised at how you'll cope, then crash out early when you get home!

I suffered badly with both of mine. Took maternity at 30 weeks but off sick from about 22 weeks with silly high BP with ds2.
It is hard going

I taught until I was 35 weeks, when pg with ds. And to be honest I think I just carried on as normal from about 13 weeks. The first trimester was the worst, with the sickness and the worry. But it got better.

Good luck!

Thanks all! Coped better today than I thought I would, all the little darlings certainly take your mind off worrying about every little twinge. I realised when they left that I felt ropey, but I'd been too busy to notice!
Also stayed in bed and ate crackers this morning before I got up, seemed to help.
Fingers crossed. Have to take an assembly this week, don't want to have a melt down in front of half the school ha ha!

I taught til I was 33 weeks (had to finish earlier than planned due to weird pregnancy thing). The first 16 weeks were awful, so I do understand. I was knackered and felt sick all day. I hid biscuits around the classroom so that I could nibble when the kids weren't looking and kept sneaking polos in when I couldn't get away with a biscuit. I also drank LOTS of water.
I made sure that I got my feet up (literally) at break and lunchtime, ate as much as possible at lunchtme and got home as early as possible.
I eventually told a couple of trusted colleagues when I was about 9 weeks because I got very weepy in the mornings ( I was terrified of having another miscarriage) which helped a lot because they were able, very discreetly, to help me out.
I found it got easier when all the staff knew as on the whole they fell over themselves to support me. It also got easier when the kids knew because then I had 30 willing helpers!
I think it's probably a good job to have whilst pregnant because you get made such a fuss of by the kids and the mums!
Good luck on your pregancy, you will find it get easier to cope.
And by the way, none of the kids thought it weird I was eating biscuits and sweets in lessons!
