So ftm obviously as have no clue. I’m 41 weeks tomorrow.

Had a sweep on Saturday and was nowhere near cervix still 2.5cm and facing backwards.

Been losing bits of my mucus plug for the last three days.

Had another sweep this morning and cervix was in right position, 2cm dilated and stretchy.

Since this morning I’ve been really crampy and really uncomfortable. Had hot water bottles and a bath which helped to ease it. But then -

In the last hour I’ve lost what I think is the rest of my mucus plug looking online it seems to be the right amount, if not then huge chunk.

For the last hour and a half I’ve also had 5 regularly spaced “contractions” I think. But they are mainly in my lower back and my rectum. A lot of pressure, feels like stretching stabbing and pushing at the same time. Not noticed if it’s in my belly as tbh it’s totally taken my breath away each time.

Does this sound like the start of labour?

Lots of luck Beagles! I remember you from the square one thread. I had been lost my plug over a few days when I woke up one morning and lost it all, waters broke 12 hours later and 12 hours after that DS was here. Sounds like this is it! Keep us posted!

Hi parney! I hope so. Things definitely slowed overnight. Was in a lot of pain but not contractions just sheer constant pressure in my pelvis. I couldn’t turn over or lift my legs or anything panicked me a bit. Unfortunately no news this morning!

Going to try a slow waddle round the park by my house and then sit on the ball this afternoon. Hopefully will get things going!

Maybe give the hospital a call just to say you could be back to back (you might not be) due to where the pains are and see what they say.

Mine did come on pretty quickly after hours of stop and starting but with constant pressure on my pelvis back and bum.

MotherOfBeagles · 02/11/2017 14:30

3 contractions in the last hour. About 20 minutes apart and have moved so in my bum and my cervix/vagina at the same time. Baby is sill quite active though so in between what I’m certain are contractions I’m getting swift stabbing pains where it feels like he’s headbutting downwards. Had this since he went head down and midwife said not uncommon as they fidget. Feel a bit like ranting at my stomach - “seriously kid? Contractions aren’t bad enough? just settle down!” Lol Grin

Ooh thanks ham I was struggling to find anything about the constant pressure online. It’s more extreme than I’ve had since he dropped so I’m sure it’s something more. Going to see how I get on and give them a ring if things keep going.

If the baby is the wrong way he is pushing down the wrong way so you seem to get a lot more pressure compared to a baby the right way round, with me it felt like u i was labouring for hours but nothing was happening up front. Pain from back to back with DC 1 and 3 was completely different to dc2 who was the right way. Just felt like constant pressure and stabbing pains, also pains in my legs and bum.

I would give them a ring and then at least if you are they know and can give you the right advice if he is b2b

Get bouncing on a ball or walk around slowly to help baby get down! Good luck!!

MotherOfBeagles · 04/11/2017 18:35

Baby finally arrived after an extremely fast and furious labour where I didn’t get my epidural Sad and ended up delivering on only gas and air at 3.03 this morning! On or way home now and feeling very and in shock still I think

Aww fabulous news, congratulations on your new arrival Flowers. Hope you are doing ok? A close friend of mine had very quick labours, she too said she felt very much in shock afterwards.
