Hi all. Tomorrow is D-Day and not a twinge 😕. Baby is still bouncing on top of my pelvis, I'm desperate to go into labour soon. I'm willing to try anything at this moment in time.

Here are some off limits:
Hot curries- I'm intolerant
Sex- partner is in the army
Nipple stimulation- my nips are ridiculously sore as it is..
Bounce on birth ball-i don't have one.

Hit me with what you've got ladies 😁

Walk up a massive hill, then stomp down. Much better than a ball!

Lizi192 · 28/10/2017 17:46

My daughter is back to school after a week off. Her school is on top of the big hill and I live at the bottom. Hopefully making 2 journeys up and down each day will get things moving

Clary sage in an oil burner or have a bath with about 6 drops in basically get clary sage oozing out your walls Grin

Acupressure.
Google there are points on your inner ankle called spleen 6. And between thumb and index called large intestine 4.

I've hears walking along a raised kerb with one foot on the higher ground and one on the lower... And orginial lucazade (lots of)

Lizi192 · 29/10/2017 08:22

Ooh I'll have to give the curb walking a go. And I'm very much on it with the original Lucozade, it's my fave drink ha

@Onnaturescourse I have never heard that about kerb walking but may give it a go! Hmm, is this a prank to make desperate pregnant women look insane 😂

tootsieglitterballs · 31/10/2017 08:33

Hahaha! I’d never heard of the Kurb thing until this thread... I think it’s all a trick!

Caenea · 31/10/2017 08:40

Going up and down the stairs sideways.

I did it for the whole of one day (whenever I needed to go upstairs) and my waters broke at 3am the next morning.

butterybean · 31/10/2017 10:56

No suggestions sorry! I've done everything and now 14 days over. Induction tonight....

minifingerz · 31/10/2017 11:59

“Cod liver, and or castor oil can be really dangerous“

Have you got a reference for that?

I’ve not seen any evidence that taking caster oil can do anything worse than make you very sick and give you the squirts, which is obviously really unpleasant. At worst I suppose it might result in you needing to labour with a drop in situ if you can’t keep fluids down.

Not seen any modern research showing risk of severe problems, but I assume other people have given the confidence with which so many assert that taking caster oil is dangerous. I must be missing something!

minifingerz · 31/10/2017 12:01

evidencebasedbirth.com/evidence-using-castor-oil-to-induce-labor/

This suggests it might work, and that the risk of pregnancy loss is for when women take it in early pregnancy.

OnNaturesCourse · 31/10/2017 13:40

I'd be trying the kerb thing if I weren't on crutches 😂

Only thing I can do is bounce on the ball. I can't stomach any of the hot food/caster oil suggestions lol

madnessintheroost · 31/10/2017 13:46

DH made me walk round town shopping every day. Made my mild labour twinges worse but I spent two weeks at 1 cm. What did work was having a nap then walking up screaming in pain - 6 cm when arrived at hospital and 9cm in 30 min baby 1 hour later - so nap :)

OnNaturesCourse · 31/10/2017 19:52

Napping is something I've become very good at lol

Properjob · 31/10/2017 19:58

Another for raspberry leaf tea. Makes the uterus contract...it was my Grans advice and has always worked for our family. Good luck dear

Lizi192 · 31/10/2017 21:49

Thankyou everyone. Currently 40+4 with nothing working 😕 looks like a waiting game for me haha

@minifingerz LOL accurate!

thenightsky · 31/10/2017 22:59

Hot curry and long country walks with the dog worked for me both times. But I see the curry is off your menu.

MagicFajita · 31/10/2017 23:01

My boy was 14 days overdue and induced. None of the old wives tales worked.

Unemfuckingployable · 01/11/2017 07:40

Reflexology definitely did it for me. 10 days overdue; went into labour that night.
