Hi, Be honest. What do you think of the name Orlaith for a wee girl? (pronounced Orla). Surname will be McNamara but unsure if i should put her t hrough having to go through life spelling out her first AND second name (i thought McNamara would be an easy one but apparently not.)

No idea if the baby is a girl, but can't even think of a boys name yet. will work that one out later (due Aug 14th).

i think its beautiful

and i think simplifying the spelling is a mistake.

my name is bloody simple, but b/c its uncommon (well, is currently fashionable again so not quite the case any more) it got pronaopunced and written incorrectly all the time. i dont find it a PITA, i think its a good filter.

i met a siobbhan spelt shivaun once. silly or what?? her mum was trying to make it easier for her...

Its a lovely name and goes really well with surname. Prefer the Gaelic spelling buts thats cos I'm Irish

Very nice name - go with the Gaelic spelling. She might hate spelling it at first, but she'll be proud of being a little different later (from someone who's spent their whole life spelling their French first name and Italian surname!)
