So what do u think on this.. For storage it's going elsewhere anyway but my aunt was like make sure you do its bad luck blah blah. I will bring it back to build and check it then go elsewhere for storage

Why is it only the first baby at risk of this superstition? When you have a second, the pram will be there....

This is my second dc but still purchased new.. However like I say we don't have space as in a flat. But once baby here it will stay downstairs anyway. Just can't store it boxed up.. :/

I refused to have anything in the house apart from the bits to put in the case to take to the hospital. I didn't want anything set up until we knew our baby was home. We didn't even get anything until the month before. I wanted to leave it until closer to the end of the pregnancy.
It's a good job as unfortunately our DC wasn't well when he was born, and had to stay in hospital for 12 days. Now if we'd set everything up in advance, we'd of had to go home and see all the things ready, when we didn't have our baby to go in them. Which would have made it even harder for me.

It's such utter bollocks that it's actually offensive. Imagine some dickhead telling you that and then you blame yourself when your baby dies?

Rudedog · 25/10/2017 21:49

SIL did this - had to stay extra days in hospital because shop wasn't open on a Sunday to pick up pram and car seat
Stupid

Apparently already having a pram with her second wasn't an issue

Julesbegone · 25/10/2017 21:49

Why can’t you make it @CinnamonAndSpice and store it downstairs if that’s where it’s got to be when the baby is here?

cocktailismyfavouritefilm · 25/10/2017 22:00

It’s rubbish!
I had prams in the house with all of mine. Their bedrooms were decorated and clothes in the wardrobe and cots made up too!

CinnamonAndSpice · 25/10/2017 22:06

Oh just because it's a communal area. And would feel weird as would be there till March, but once baby here it would be used daily so either there or in either car. . It will go do dads or in laws as trey only live two min away anyway so wouldn't be far when need it.
If only put the question for people's view on the old tales. As it was mentioned to me.. I can't remember where I stored my DS one when I brought it whether it was indoor or not?
