Hiya everyone! So I know it depends on individual circumstances but I was wondering how long you had to stay in hospital after your c section? Also has anybody got any tips for good/quick recovery?

I was kept in for 7 days, partly due to blood pressure converns, partly due to stupid staff forgetting about me and failing to make decisions faster. If I end up having a cs this time I'm discharging myself after 1-2 nights maximum. I live about 30 seconds from the hospital and want my own bed with no snorers or visitors piling in either side of a curtain at all hours.

I had a planned section with my first at 11am. I was offered the opportunity to go home after one night but although I wasn’t loving being in hospital I still felt in quite a lot of pain and struggling with feeding so I chose to stay in for 2.
My second is due in a few weeks and I’m planning to only stay on for 1 this time.

EMCS at 37 weeks, baby born at 6pm, sent home at 1pm next day.

EMCS under GA, baby born at 5pm, sent home 24hours on the dot later.

Section 10am, home at my own insistence the following day

1st one (emergency) was 5 days but that birth was all a bit shit.

2nd one (planned) was home the next day. They were surprised I wanted to go home so soon. And lake I have an active toddler too and I recovered well, but that meant being able to walk around slowly in the house and doing things with the toddler which meant I could sit on the sofa. And that was with quite strong painkillers.

Thanks everyone I know everyone is different but just wanted to have an idea! I'm definitely planning on taking it slowly, thankfully my dp is most likely going to have three weeks off so I think that will be massive help (he always has been) with taking our 6yo to school cooking etc
