Am suffering now and need to find sth which helps. Don't take anything with antihistamines in usually and know I cant now but I need which really works. Have tried a few natural cures before but not with much success...
Any ideas/suggestions anyone?
Thanks

Hi Pannacotta, I'm in the same boat. So sniffly and my eyes are starting to feel itchy. Please help someone!!

Nelsons do a homeopathic remedy for hayfever - name escapes me at the mo'. Think it might be Pollena. You could also try bee pollen/propolis tabs - you need to brush 1 against your lower inner lip first to make sure you are not allergic, if no reaction start taking them. Also honey from your local area if possible.

Local Honey - try a farmer's market and take 2 big spoonfuls a day

was also going to suggest the honey thing. Check the label carefully though/quiz the seller - SiL bought some 'local' honey from farmers' market and discovered when she got it home that it was from the other end of the country.

I'm using a nose spray prescribed by the doc to relieve my cat allergy, and someone suggested some stuff to wipe around the nostrils to act as "glue" and trap the pollen to stop it getting in (or at least reduce the amount that you breathe in). Because you don't take it it's fine to use but I can't remember what it was called.

Can thoroughly recommend going to a homoeopath and getting constitutionally treated. Last year, I was basically streaming with hayfever from March through to September, was the worst I'd ever been.

This year I haven't even had a single twinge of hayfever and usually the tree pollen is my worst time. Not a cheap solution but long term it's really really helped and I don't feel constantly drugged up.

As a side effect, the homoeopathy has also helped a lot of other minor stuff that I've ignored for years

I did actually see a homeopath during my last pregnancy and when DS was small and had tummy probs but she was pretty hopeless and it pu tmeoff. Perhaps I should try again. Hard to get recommendations as not many people use them....

I'm struggling too but homeopathic remedies have never helped in years gone by. I actually take an AH everyday for dustmite & other daily allergies but snookered right now. One thing that helps a bit if you're in a rural area is vaseline in the nostrils. It's not very pretty if you use loads but a wee bit just inside can do some good. GP says they can prescribe Piriton once the pregnancy is much further on & I usually suffer till about October so I might take them up on it if it's still bad September time. Bub due early November. Let us know how you get on I'm always keen to try things that others have found successful, if I've not tried it before.

I used Sterimar Sea water nasal spray everyday it rinse away any pollen and is not harmful and I rub a tiny bit of Vaseline inside my nostrils (to trap pollen), worked well. Steer clear from any cortisone products unless prescribed, the gp can look up which products are good to use during pregnancy.

You can buy sterimar at any pharmacy.

Nettle tea is reputed to work; fresh nettles are best but dried leaves are a good substitute. I think you can get it in most health food type shops.

My brother tried it last year and reckons it helps (yes, I know he's not pg but it is a natural remedy!)

heres a weird thing, of absolutely no help whatsoever but anyway - when i was pregnant i was completely paranoid about getting hayfever as i usually really suffer. Not even a runny nose - all came back with a vengence after the baby was born though
