Next to me cot

So I want to buy a next to me cot, but we have an Ikea bed that has a lip that is a couple of inches wide. My idea if there are cots our there that will work on a bed with a lip

Can you use a Moses basket? X

I used a Moses basket last time but my baby was a terrible sleeper so I thought the next to me would be easier for night feeds. Plus it’s bigger. Just. Don’t know if it will fit.

Oh right I see what you mean. I personally don't like them. But I'm sure one would suit your need perfectly. Isn't there any shops with them in store where you can go and look at them

Only one. Miles away. So was hoping for some personal experience before making the journey. It’s about 45 min drive

The next2me can go over the wooden lip - the legs fold inwards so it can get close. However we did have a problem that our Ikea bed was too low, so check the height specs before you buy it.

My bed has a lip and I used an Ikea cot with the side off. I just pushed the mattress to the bed to cover the lip so it was seemless. It was perfect. The gap created on the far side of the mattress was easily stuffed with tightly rolled massive bath towel. Tiny babies don't roll around the place and mine never even got close to the towel side. I'd be confident even if they did that the way I had it the towel was as firm and in a level with the mattress that it wouldn't have been a problem anyway.

The bednest would work well with that as the side folds down to make a sort of ramp between the cot and bed. I put a comfy blanket over it though as I would be leaning in the cot half the night!
