How long do these bloomin' cramps go on for?

This is my first pregnancy, and I appreciate there's got to be a lot of stretching and growing going on down there, but I'm 17 weeks tomorrow and still getting crampy type pain. Similar to the pains I had at early pregnancy, when I was told it was normal. Nothing agonising, but annoying. How long did yours last first time round?

Hi MrsMar
I'm 25+4 and still getting aches and cramps (in fact its got to the stage where if I don't have them I panic something is wrong!!). A bit frustrating but have accepted that they are my 'thing' in pregnancy- some people get sickness, some get swelling, I get constant aches and cramps!!
Sorry- probably not what you want to hear but at least they don't mean bad things.

Hi PPS, thanks for the reply... can I ask, are they in your bump? Mine are around the same area as af pain, I assumed it was stretching uterus, but it doesn't stop me worrying!

Hey
they are around the bottom of the bump -the place where I'd get my AF pain. Sometimes I get across the top aches but mainly round the bottom. My MW said they are fine and caused by the stretching but if they feel like AF pains then to call the hospital. Needless to say everytime I get a different type of ache I panic thinking 'is this what my AF felt like?' but sanity eventually takes over and I realise that no- nothing like AF pains!
Hope they ease up for you soon- I find that having a warm bath every evening when I get in really helps as I think my bump gets quite tense during the day. Also experiment with pillows- if I manage to sleep comfortably then the next day the aches are less, but if I have a bad and restless night I siffer the next day.

They do feel in the approximate area of af pains, kind of along the bottom of my bump. I seem to only get them when I'm at work, I think it must have something to do with sitting at a desk for 12 hours!

You're probably right about that- I sit at a dsesk all day too. Oh well, it will be worth it in the end when we have our 'bundles of joy!' X
