poor you. did you have a dating scan yet?

Nbg · 10/04/2007 11:32

no not yet
Think realistically it will be next week.

Although I dont see why I need it now. I reckon I must be earlier than 12 weeks if MS hasjust kicked in.

Yes it does suck! I had a three week period of all day sickness; that finally went and now I am periodically sick just before I have to leave the house each morning. As I know that I am going to be sick most mornings, I gulp a glass of milk first thing followed by some ginger tea. I would far prefer to vom at home rather than on the train. I always feel right as rain after vomming too. It's not pleasant at all though.

coleyboy · 10/04/2007 11:33

I hope this makes you feel better (sort of!), but I think the morning sickness and tiredness at the beginning of pregnancy is worse than sleep deprivation when the baby arrives.

So, if you can get through this, the sleepless nights will be a breeze!!

Nbg · 10/04/2007 11:35

Well I'm not sure about that
Ds is 7 months and still not sleeping and thats a killer. Plus dd likes to wake up occasionaly too.

Just ignore me, I'm having a right old woe is me day.

deasterjags · 10/04/2007 11:36

I puked until I was 20 weeks pregnant, all day every day. I then puked in the evenings till I was 25 weeks pregnant. I stopped puking until I was 32 weeks pregnant and guess what - it's started in the evenings again

I don't even bother complaining anymore - it's futile. I will hopefully stop feeling nauseous when the baby is born in 6 weeks time

Nbg · 10/04/2007 11:37

Oh cripes dejags!
I hope it stops for you. You poor thing.

gosh nbg missed this! DS 7 months and you are how pregnant?

TeeCee · 10/04/2007 11:40

It is massivley rubbish yes, and I found it so hard runnign down a flight of stairs to the loo at work, hand clamped over mouth and trying not to let anyone cotton on. And they need a new name for it - morning my arse! All day naseua and puking is more apt.

BUT

Being sick at least meant that I was carrying a child, and that I was lucky to be pregant and that each day I was sick meant that everything was ok and I was still pregnant.
When I wasn't sick I only worried!

DarrellRivers · 10/04/2007 11:41

wish i had morning sickness as wish i was pregnant

but yes it is crap

PeachyChocolateEClair · 10/04/2007 11:42

Poor you NBG, its bloody horrid isn't it?

Have you tried the flat coke yet? Or lucozade? Or celery?

Bensmum78 · 10/04/2007 11:49

Hello nbg

Can I ask what you feel like, i know that sounds odd but im having a bit of a panic as i myself have felt 'off' for the last few mornings.

On Sunday i had 2 glasses of wine (but it was about 1pm - BBQ) so when i woke up Monday feeling ill i assumed it was that.

But i have woken again this morning feeling the same (with nothing inbetween) which does make me ponder!

I feel sick, the same sort of sick where you havent eaten, but the last 2 days ive felt ill from the 'get up'

I also spotaneously heaved when i woke up,

Does this sound like what you are experiencing?

TeeCee · 10/04/2007 11:52

Eat little and often.

Ginger biscuits are supposed to help but I found a bit of white toast with butter and nibbling on that helped me.

I'm 17 weeks now and other than a bit of a bump and hormones and headaches have no symptons really and keep worrying that I'm not pregnant! I'm sure it's fiune, but if I was being sick at least I'd know everything was ok!!

christysinclair · 10/04/2007 11:53

Three things, 1. is rubbish, 2, is true 3. is fun.
1.Having morning sickness for a long time means you are having a girl.

  1. Gingernut buscuits help really well 333with morning sickness.
  2. go to slummy-yummy.com to see what sort of mum you will be with a super fast questionaire.
PeachyChocolateEClair · 10/04/2007 12:15

BUt she knows what srt of Mum she will be?

Ginger biscuits help by stabilizing blood sugars which is all many women need, the ginger itself isn't in a sufficiently strong enough dosgae. So on that basis theoretically any dry biscuits should work.

Nbg · 10/04/2007 12:19

Bensmum, I feel sick virtually as soon as I wake up but I can manage to eat. If I dont constantly snack it gets really bad. TMI, if I burp I almost puke.

I felt a bit sick on Saturday but was fine by lunch time, Sunday it lasted a bit longer and yesterda I had it till 4pm.

Iotter, the MW's reckon I'm 12 weeks due to weirdy bleed I had in Feb. Have you had a name change?

TC, you are right, I know. Rich tea biscuits are getting me through amtm.

I also felt sick the 2nd I woke up. My 13 month old and 5 yr old used to stand behind me copying the retching noises in the morning which was really helpful!!!!!
Then I would carry an empty bag on the passenger seat as I drove them around and then went to work and then I ddi about 5 runs to the loo before lunchtime. Then I 'd be ok till the 3 o'clock tiredness kicked in and feel sick again and then I'd drive home with a fresh carrier bag next to me and then I'd get home and feel ok putting the kids to bed but DP would come in and find me asleep on DD1's bed with them both snoring away next to me! Then He'd cook dinner as the thought of it made me sick and then I'd eat, feel like I was going to throw up and then go to bed shattered.

Having said all that, I love being pregnant!

Massive congrats btw

Rumpel · 10/04/2007 12:33

Know exactky how you feel - was sick immediately got to 6 wks all the way through to 20 weeks. I tried sea bands, ginger everything, resting (couldn't actually get out of bed for 3 weeks), hypnotherapy. I never drink fizzy drinks but found when I could get up that I NEEDED a pint of diet coke and ice first thing. Seemed to be the only thing to settle my tum. I also founf sweeteis called sourz helped, as my breath and mouth tasted rank and they seemed to take the edge off the nausea and the breath! Eventually I had acupuncture at 20 weeks 3 weeks in a row and that was the only thing that helped. It didn't get rid of the nausea completely but it made me able to function relatively normally.
Next time I am going for acupuncture straight away!

When I felt better I ate cake and now I still need to lose 2 stone.

Rumpel · 10/04/2007 12:36

Teecee - how can you love being pg when you feel like that? I hated being pg and I just kept saying to myself how lucky I was to be pg.

The end result makes it worth it though! Contrary to what folks say - I have NOT forgotten what ms or labour was like.

CONGRATULATIONS - not long to go before you start to feel better!

cathcart · 10/04/2007 12:38

teecee - sorry but LOL about your dc's copying your noises!!!

Nbg · 10/04/2007 12:44

lol TC at your dd's

Sorry you are having a hard time sweetie, you may be on the december thread with me yet!

Still no luck with seabands?

Ive managed to eat more in the last 48 hours than i did for a week because of them, so fingers crossed. Darent take them off yet though - just cant face the possibility of puking!

Nbg · 10/04/2007 12:45

I hope it goes soon because its awful. I dont know what I'll do next week when dd has to go back to pre-school.
