After a horrible, horrible first 4 months of pregnancy I finally started feeling really good and the long awaited glow apparently kicked in! And so I wanted to treat myself to some nice makeup as well, got a few lipsticks from MAC and C Tilbury. And then a colleague at work mentioned lipsticks in particular are really bad for the baby.
Obviously I can wait until after the baby is born, but I was wondering if anyone had advise from an actual health professional (I'm only seeing my midwife in two weeks) on this. Internet is full of tales and pseudo-doctors, neither could I find a reliable up-to-date sources with 'safe' makeup.

Slap it on, dear girl. Don't worry you won't be poisoning yourself or your precious cargo.

I just treated myself to some lovely new make up today. 35 weeks with my third and boy do I need cheering up and glamming up.

Nothing like some fabulous new makeup to make you feel less grotty.

Totally agree with PPs, it's good for you to treat yourself with something that will cheer you up. It may be harder to find time once the baby is born as well, at least at first. So glam it up and enjoy it.

There's no end of official advice about stuff to avoid when pg, and the only cosmetic thing I've ever seen mentioned is hair dye. If lipstick was an issue, it would be in those lists in Emma's smug diary etc.

My son is 18 now and as a dedicated "make-up" fan, I ALWAYS wore my make up when I was pregnant except for the days when I couldn't be bothered!! Ive often had jobs where it was almost expected of me to wear make up and going though pregnancy, make up was my way of still being in "me". There is nothing to suggest that wearing lippy or make up harming your baby, if that was the case Im sure that my midwife would have had something to say (she was also an avid make up fan!!).

Keep wearing your make up. If it makes you look/feel good then carry on.

Good luck with everything!!
