I had the propels pessary around 1:50 early hours this morning. I've been have tightening since about 8 am but I'm just curious how long it took from induction to baby for everybody

I had the pessory late afternoon, I got home it was hanging out so I went back up to the hospital got another fitted at 10pm and by 1am contractions had started. 21 hours later my little girl was born

squishymuffin · 06/10/2017 10:49

Pessary at 9am baby born at 6.40pm on the induction ward 15 mins of actual labour

Thiswillbemyusername · 06/10/2017 11:49

I think my first pessary (I had 3) was placed on Tuesday 25th at 12pm, baby born Thursday 27th at 10:36. 46 hours I think that is (cba to count)

Mummy2be19 · 06/10/2017 13:34

Still waiting on baby. Just waiting for a bed to become available on the labour ward and they'll break my waters. Hope my labour gets going as quickly as some of yours once it happens!

61 hours from propess to delivery (via forceps). Propess, then gel pessary, then manual breaking of waters then drip. The breaking of the waters set off ridiculously intense back to back contractions where I vomited throughout. I was 38 weeks though so not overly ripe!

Best of luck, hope you're holding baby soon!!

MadeinBelfast · 06/10/2017 15:11

Good luck, hope it goes well 🙂

If you get put on the drip, I suggest going for maximum pain relief. I was all into going as 'natural' as possible but I was so glad an epidural was available in the end!

Raaaaaah · 06/10/2017 20:28

I hope it has all gone swimmingly and you have a babe in arms. I went straight to drip for my induction (had waters fully broken first). I had an epidural sited at the same time as the drip was started. Baby was monitored with probe on her head. I was fully mobile and gave birth squatting. It was a really gentle, positive experience. I have also had a 'normal' vaginal delivery with no intervention which was also positive but no more so than the induction.

Pessary went in and 20 mins later waters broke and was 4cm dilated 😂
Took 22 hours.. twin birth

AlexDrake1981 · 06/10/2017 20:51

Had pessary but had to have iv antibiotics so was laid stationary for 5 hours as my contractions started straight away & were very rapid. As soon as I finished with the second dose I was 5 cm and being taken to the delivery room. From then it took about 10 minutes to get there & as soon as I got there I delivered within 5 minutes.

Snapodile · 07/10/2017 09:22

From pessary to delivery, 5 hours. 20 mins on delivery ward. I labour quickly, though.

Any news OP? Hopefully you have your little baby by now

Esined1976 · 07/10/2017 10:25

Gel at midnight. Baby born at 10.45am. However I was 12 days late, so my body must have been almost ready to go.

ICJump · 07/10/2017 10:27

I was in hospital for less than 24 for my induction which included baby having to addition observations.

Turkeyneck · 07/10/2017 10:32

5.5 days here! Was induced at 39 weeks though. Wish I'd had an elective CS. Ended up with consultant breaking waters and going on drip on day 5. Good luck, I'm sure yours will be much more speedy.

Mummy2be19 · 07/10/2017 14:56

I've had my baby at last! I had to have a C Section in the end because he was too big and got stuck and I couldn't push him out unfortunately.

Thanks everyone for your answers 😀

Induced once at 16:30, baby delivered at 1:50am. Started feeling the contractions at about 7pm.

BillyAndTheSillies · 07/10/2017 15:17

Waters went 7am Saturday.
Pessary 8am Sunday, drip at 10pm, baby 11:40am Monday.

Back to back contractions, a minute long, every other minute but no dilation until the drip.

Mummy2be19 · 07/10/2017 15:53

If I have another I think I'll go for an elective section if possible, I was put on the drip and took 9 hours to dialate to 10 cm, baby wasn't moving down but midwife had me try and push him out for over an hour with his head stuck in my pelvis.

I kept telling her it wasn't working and I wasn't going to be able to do it but I'm sure she hears it from most of her patients!

Dc1 pessary 6pm held baby at 530am.
Dc2 pessary 11am, another at 6pm, 10cm dilated at midnight, spent 6.5 hours pushing Sad dc born at 634 with the help of a vacuum cup.

TheLegendOfBeans · 07/10/2017 16:05

CONGRATS mummy!

Now enjoy your wee baby safe in the knowledge that you're not going to have any more rummaging about in your bits and pieces for quite some time x

SadieContrary · 07/10/2017 17:18

First pessary in at 00:30, checked at 7am. As good as nothing. Second pessary in by 7:30am and off we went. All progressed well, baby in arms by 5:05pm

Good luck OP
